About this house rental
This 17th century, beautiful Provencal Mas is positioned on a country lane surrounded by fruit fields, halfway between Avignon and St Remy de Provence. As the attractive entrance gates slide open you are greeted by a lovely view of the large garden and pool. This family house has a lot of space and places to relax, its sympathetically furnished in a traditional style but with the advantages of modern bathrooms and a brand new kitchen. The bedroom's are spacious, comfortable and well decorated, with a French charm. Outside living comprises of a wonderful covered terrace providing shade and coolness, furnished with a large table and chairs, BBQ, and sofas for relaxing and enjoying the view of the garden's. There is a large driveway, where the sun goes down, one can sip on a glass of Pastis, whilst playing a game of Boule.

We stayed here with our friends, so there were 4 adults and 4 children (9, 8, 4 & 3 yrs). We travelled on the Eurostar, so was really easy getting off at Avignon, collecting the hire car and driving 15 minutes to the house. Cheaper and less stressful than flying for sure. The layout of the property is perfect; we had half the upstairs each, with 1 shared bathroom (shower only), plus separate shower room and another 2 toilets. The living room was big enough to fit everyone in and very cosy and the outdoor seating areas were great. We mainly ate at the large covered table and then the adults chilled in the outdoor sofas finishing the wine while the kids played! The kitchen is very well equipped with kettle, toaster, microwave and oven/hob; plus utility room for washing and a gas bbq outside. The swimming pool and garden were fantastic - we spent so much time here and the kids loved it. The house is located about 10-15 minutes walk into the centre of Chateaurenard; where there is a choice of places to eat. We really liked Le Castel, Le Baroque and Le Central (the waitress here was fantastic and very friendly.) You'll need a torch for the walk home though. There are boulangeries galore also, so fresh croissants/bread are only minutes away! We also liked the fact that it was located a short drive from numerous towns to visit; in particular we enjoyed St Remy (20 mins - Weds morning market is good), Sur La Sorgue (30 mins - sunday morning market is worth a visit), Nimes (45 mins) and Avignon (10-15 mins). Would definitely recommend a visit.

The most beautiful house and garden,with a fantastic heated pool, of which I spent most my time. Brand new fabulous kitchen with everything you need. Great fun for all our family, teens and younger. They had so much space to run around, it was heaven for them. They played in pool, badminton on the grass, boules on the big drive, even soft ball on the massive patio. Loved going to all the different markets, it became a great family day out as there is something for everyone at the markets we went to and all were no further than half an hours drive. I loved it here and we would all love very much to come back next year.

This lovely old Provencal farmhouse has been updated by the owners and is a wonderful property for a large group, with its big communal rooms and spaces outside - and the enormous garden with a swimming pool. It was clean and well maintained, with a local family on hand for any assistance and lots of guidebooks on the area.
Chateaurenard is a nice town within walking distance, with lots of restaurants and all the shops you might need, and the house is midway between historic and buzzing Avignon and the stunning market town of St Remy. We went swimming in the river at the Pont Du Gard and to the beach near Marseilles, which is only an hour away. There was so much to do every day - and it was lovely place to return to.
