Located on the island of Barthelasse (largest fluvial island in Europe and 'green lungs' of Avignon), at the heart of the countryside - ideal for cycling, roller blading and hiking - only 4km away from the historic centre (Palais des Papes, Saint Bénezet bridge, fortification) and the shops - free river shuttle 1 km away to get to the heart of the city, many restaurants, an equestrian centre and a great aqutic complex on the island.

The house, garden and pool are wonderfull. Also, very nice hosts who helped us whenever needed, they were so very kind. The boat to Avignon is 15 min walk, make sure you visit the centre and the palace of the Pope.

We enjoyed the house and in particular the grounds, including a very unusual hi-tech glass covered pool, perfect for the extremely hot weather we experienced. Our hosts Celine & Jean-Pierre were charming and helpful which helped make our stay very special. There is an excellent bakery, Restaurant Le Bercail (with best views of Pont d'Avignon) and a walk-on ferry all within walking distance of approx <1km. We would certainly recommend it and may return ourselves in the future

Lovely location, great hosts, quiet and peaceful. We would highly recommend a car if you plan on traveling around Provence.
