The location is not great, not particularly safe/secure to arrive there alone during the night, but it is very close to the station and the underground

The flat was clean and the beds were comfortable. The flat is only a 6 minute walk from the station and this was helpful as we were only staying for a transfer. The host was very polite and helpful over text so thank you for that.
The area: The flat is in a bad neighbourhood - I realise it's close to the station so this should be expected, but we felt unsafe and unsettled, and it was very noisy until late. As we approached the flat there was a man clearly high on drugs loitering outside so we had to wait till he left to open the door. Between the time we arrived around 6pm and 11pm there was constant shouting and screaming from drug addicts and sex workers in the street outside, and then the binmen came and emptied the bins late at night so it was very unrestful. The door to the flat itself is not reinforced so this added to feeling unsafe. There does seem to be a motion sensor in the hall outside. The next morning there was rubbish, clothing and shoes littered all over the street. We come from a large city so are used to noise and antisocial behaviour but this was something else.
The flat itself: although it was clean and there were some helpful additions like a coffee machine, large fridge and some pots and pans, it did feel unfinished. There's several plug sockets that have not been screwed in properly so you can see the wiring behind - this definitely is not safe for a child. The TV had been set on Russian so we found it difficult to use. Other small things like there being only diluted washing up liquid provided and no kitchen towel, these things would be helpful. The cooker/hob also didn't work properly.
