We love the snowline community that the cabin is located in and its close proximity to Mt. Baker and Chair 9 restaurant. The hot tub on the back deck was great too.
The driveway to this cabin is INSANELY steep and long. We felt very unsafe driving up the driveway (only one car could park near the top) and it was very tiring for those who had to pack their things up and down the hill on foot from the parking at the bottom. The driveway is too steep to pull a car up and unload. We tried and our car started rolling backwards! I couldn't imagine how people would manage if there was snow on the ground!! And definitely nobody would be driving up the driveway with snow on it.
About the cabin... we really enjoyed our time spent relaxing with family. However, the cabin is described as "rustic" but would be better described as run down and dated. Pots and pans were old, warped, non-stick coating was chipping off into our food as we cooked. Plates were old, mismatched and had chips on the sides. We paid a very high cleaning fee yet the cleaning of dishes is the responsibility of the guests so we found many kitchen items not properly cleaned by the previous guest and had to wash many of the kitchen items before we could use them. And we had to pack all garbage to a bin near the front gates. Up and down the steep driveway.
Many of the towels were worn and fraying. Twice we tried to open curtains the rod and curtain fell on our heads. In what would be considered the master or primary bedroom, there are no curtains over the windows so I was woken up early with sun in my eyes each morning. The photos gave me the impression we would have an ensuite washroom but in reality there is only one washroom upstairs in the hall between the 3 bedrooms.
I think the owners should spend time in the cabin with a critical eye and fix up some of these little things to bring this cabin to its potential : ) Until then, my feeling is this cabin should be priced as a budget friendly get away. The quality of this cabin vs. the high cost ($2000 CDN for 3 nights) was very disappointing.
