Lovely little set up which is great for those wanting to try an ‘off the grid’ experience. The accommodation was nicely set up with all that you needed. Beautiful fairy lights behind the bed added a special touch, and fans supplied to keep the heat down during the day. Games etc available and we saw blankets and hot water bottles for the cooler months too.

We weren’t aware of the steep gravel driveway until the day before. We had originally planned on coming on our spyder motorbike so would never have been able to get to our accom if we hadn’t changed our minds. Would have been nice to have the window flaps already up for our arrival as it was very hot inside, plus some milk would have been great. ( the chocolates were a lovely touch, as was the welcome board).

I understand it is a work in progress but considering there has been over 200 guests now it could do with a little polishing around the edges. A few small things like making sure all the facilities work, clearer instructions on how to troubleshoot gas bottles/regulators/califonts (as they seem to be challenging regularly amongst guests) and a small thing of milk would go a long way. Even some more lighting as eating dinner in the dark is a challenge. Ensuring all crockery/glasses are cleaned properly in between guests as they were so greasy and oily the bowls slipped out of my hands and broke. Our shower also was not working for the duration of our stay. The grounds were flooded so by the time we unpacked and managed to calm our dog down after being harassed by the neighbours dog we were covered in mud with no working shower. I suspect the hosts knew this prior to our arrival. Had we known about the shower we would’ve cancelled or made other plans. The hosts offered us to use their shower or wait till the next day to use the second domes shower. The hosts did have hand/foot/mouth disease so using their shower was not something we felt comfortable with. They only disclosed this after they had appeared suddenly and started touching all of the showers/taps and cleaning products. This made us wary of touching anything else inside our dome as we did not want to catch it. We had to cut our stay short a night as it was far too wet to be enjoyable. The hosts did refund us $40 for the inconvenience caused.
