Sehr großzügige Wohnung, modern möbliert, große, gut ausgestattete Küche, komfortable Bäder, toller Blick, praktische Lage unweit Matterhornbahn
Schlechtes Upkeep: Elektrische Dachfenster lassen sich nicht öffnen weil Steuerung nicht aufgeladen (dadurch Schlafzimmer nicht zu lüften), in der Heizungssteuerung keine Batterien, dadurch nicht zu heizen, Spülmaschine verstopft, dadurch Handspülen. Das hätte man alles leicht beheben können, aber Verwaltung die ganze Woche weder per Mail noch telefonisch zu erreichen. Zu früher Checkout um 9 Uhr extrem unpraktisch.

Schön eingerichtete Wohnung mit gutem Skiraum. Schönes Schlafzimmer und Dusche. Nahe zur Seilbahn.
Ziemlich steiler Zugang zum Haus. Bei Schnee und Eis mit Skischuhen nicht ganz einfach zu begehen. Sehr ungünstig gelegen zum Einkaufen, weil es in Winkelmatten kein Lebensmittelgeschäft gibt. Ein grösseres Sofa und/oder Sessel für 4 Personen wäre angenehm. Küchenausstattung ist ungenügend. 4 Gläser und 4 Tassen für eine Wohnung mit 4 Betten. Keine Schneidebretter, 1 Rüstmesser, kein Tee- oder Wasserkrug, keine Salatschleuder etc. Passt nicht zum Rest der Wohnung und zum Preis.

The property is nice.. but….
We stayed at Haus Andorra and, to be fair, the apartment itself is excellent — clean, well-presented, and in a great location. However… the overall experience comes with a few “surprises.”
Firstly, rubbish disposal turns into what can only be described as an unexpected fitness challenge. Guests are required to take their waste to a drop-off point roughly a 1km round trip up a fairly serious hill. This wasn’t mentioned in advance, the bin bags provided are on the small side, and there’s no clear guidance on recycling separation — so you’re left figuring it out mid-hike. Not exactly what you want at the end of a holiday.
Secondly, there’s a 50 CHF local tax that has to be paid in cash. No card option. Which means yet another uphill walk (around 1.5km round trip) to find an ATM. Between this and the rubbish expedition, our final morning felt less like checkout and more like a low-level endurance event — about an hour and 20k steps later.
I don’t want to sound like a Karen, but at close to £400 a night, service matters and the overall experience matters. There’s no one to greet you, no key handover, and no explanation of any of these requirements — you’re just expected to figure it all out.
If you know what you’re getting into, the apartment itself won’t disappoint. But a bit more transparency (and maybe less cardio) would go a long way.
