The design of Rioca hotel is so beautiful and inviting. Our room was a nice size, clean and comfortable. The hotel staff was very helpful, Patrick especially.

Environmentally conscious and clean, walking down the hall to our room felt like a stroll through a Brazilian rain forest, complete with jungle-themed wall paper and the piped-in audio track of exotic birds. We did not order breakfast as we had a friend cooking for us, but the buffet looked plentiful and tasty. Lots of young families and single young adults.
Parking was in a lot across the street. Lift was out of order and walkway had broken glass. If you take your ticket inside and pay at registration, you have in and out privileges.
Room was good size with refrigerator and automatic phone chargers. To turn on the lights, insert your room key and leave it there.
Towels are small. Two per room.
Front desk agent was very friendly and spoke English fluently.
Only nervous moment was walking back to hotel at night from bus stop … walked through an overgrown pathway with high grass and lots of foilage … no street lights. Otherwise had a great stay!

The reception desk was located inside the Hotel Restaurant/Bar, which was a little surprising to us. Our key card to access the room was also used to activate lights, Air conditioning etc. in the room, which was unique. When walking through the corridor one would be listening to bird sounds and that was very nice and calming. Parking was available in a Parking Garage across the hotel for a fee collected by the hotel. Overall we had a great stay.

Friendly staff, beautifully decorated hotel/apartment - great location on the outstkirts of the city. Really enjoyable stay.
