Helpful staff, clean rooms, bus station 2min away the hotel, ask the hotel for the Konstanz bus card you can get for free during your stay.

The room was nice without any luxury. No fridge, no kettle, which seems to be standard in Germany. The container for shower/shampoo and liquid soap got refilled without us asking. The hotel claims to have parking space which turned out to be a lie. The cooperation with the nearby parking garage had been stopped about 2 months earlier but the info on the website never got updated. So when you compare prices, you need to add 16 Euro/day into the costs of the room if you travel by car. The area around the hotel does not have a lot of empty free spaces as it is either used by residents or companies located in the vicinity. You may have to drive for a while to get lucky and find something in reasonable walking distance. There is a big supermarket in about 10 minutes walking distance and a bus stop into the center opposite the road. As your city tax includes a free bus ticket for the wider area of Konstanz (Bodensee West), make use of it but keep in mind that later in the day there is only one bus per hour back from the center to the hotel. The bus lines in Konstanz are a little confusing as some run in a loop but others don't. We noticed a lot of foreigners scratching their head when trying to figure it out.
The free ticket allows you to even visit Stein am Rhein in Switzerland, a picturesque town worth visiting. There is a flyer in the room about this ticket but it seems that in Konstanz the reception does not tell you about this free bus ticket. We met a couple of Netherlands entering the bus from another hotel, paying for the rather expensive one-way ticket that their hotel had not told them they could get for free travel as part of paying the city tax. Parking in the city of Konstanz is scarce, so use it for your advantage.
