L'Antica Nicchia - Centro Storico

An old 2 bed house sensitively updated on a quiet road within the historic town. There was nothing missing from what we needed. Staying overnight allowed us to experience a little of the local life, which is swamped in the middle of the day by bus loads of day visitors. San Gimignano has been a tourist attraction for 200 years and is well cared for and maintained.

A ?14th century house was not designed for C21st people. I think that is an advantage in seeing life, but some may want to stay in a modern cocoon.

Very unique property in the centre of the old town - we enjoyed the experience of this little piece of history! L’Antica Nicchia had everything we needed for our short stay and is in walking distance of everything in the old town. Although the centre itself is busy, this little street was nice and quiet when we were staying

Nothing not to like

Posizione ottima, in centro storico, ma su strada tranquilla . E’ un’intera casetta a due piani.

La casa ha bisogno di manutenzione x diversi aspetti. Il bagno ha tavoletta fuori misura e mobile, la doccia è libera e non si può fare se non si vuole inondare tutto, lavandino minuscolo. Alcuni asciugamani hanno delle macchie, forse di ruggine, ma l’impressione non è di roba fresca di bucato.Per una notte ok, ma di più no. La luce delle scale funziona solo dal piano sotto. Alcune finestre hanno le parti oscuranti che non chiudono bene. Nella cucina non c’è un rotolo di carta asciugatutto ne’ una presina o uno strofinaccio. La colazione non è inclusa, ma una bottiglia d’acqua minerale ci potrebbe stare. Alla fine non ti senti in un posto accogliente e non ti fidi della pulizia. Quindi l’idea è buona, ma la casa non è seguita a sufficienza.
