Hostel Sol is a clean, simple, and excellent budget-friendly option in Dubrovnik. Despite the name, it feels more like a simple modern hotel than a traditional hostel — we had a private room with a private bathroom, which was comfortable and spotless.
The building is new, and the location is super convenient if you're arriving or leaving by bus — literally a 5-minute walk from the main bus station. Reception is open until 9pm, so plan your arrival accordingly (we were delayed and were lucky they were still there). If you're running late, definitely call ahead to arrange key collection.
Rooms don't have kettles or irons, but there's a well-equipped shared kitchen on the second floor with fridge, oven, to store things.
The highlight for us was the amazing view from the room — beautiful sunrise and sunset every day. Getting to the Old Town is easy and cheap by Uber (usually 7-10€ one way).
Overall, a very comfortable and good-value stay. I would happily recommend Hostel Sol to anyone looking for a practical, clean base for a few days in Dubrovnik.

Good location near the bus terminal, just walking distance, the hotel is under renovation so it's a bit noisy, the room is too cold because there is no heater in the room

Extremely small room suitable only for an overnight stay to catch ferry or intercity bus. Booked double bed, but on arrival was told they don’t have double beds in any rooms. Central kitchen for use of all hotel guests totally inadequate. It had fridge, microwave and kettle, but no cutlery or crockery.
