After taking transportation ( bus or taxi) to the town on the hill, walking or buses were available easily. The hotel was lovely. Great view of the square. A market was set up one morning, neat but a little noisy.

My only regret is that I didn't stay longer. I had planned to spend only one night because it was a last-minute trip. However, when I return to Orvieto, I will stay here again. As soon as I could, I called my wife to show her around. What a BEAUTIFUL space, the view! La Soffitta e La Torre felt like a second home, and I felt welcomed. Thank you!

Room was a well-maintained in a medieval building dating from the 1300s. Ancient timber and brick ceilings. Thrilling for Canadians used to only modern buildings. Fun to sit by the window and watch the action in the ancient square below. Hostess was very friedly and helpful and fluent in French, as well as Italian.

Excellent room right on a major piazza. We didn’t eat breakfast, and we had to climb a lot of stairs, but we managed.
