    The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating is because there was a mistake with our reservation. I don’t know if it was made by Agoda, the booking service or the hotel. We ended up in a small, dark room. I’m still trying to get used to the bathrooms in old European hotels. This hotel had 2 standing pedestal sinks but the was no place to put your stuff. No countertop space. It was very nice to have a stall shower rather than just a hand shower in the tub. The staff was formal but helpful. Great breakfast. Amazing decor suitable to the architecture of the building with historic charm. Thankfully there is no plastic furniture or stark white and great colors!! Despite all these positives the hotel is very expensive. You must decide if a small room is worth the beautiful building and decor.
