The hotel is located in a beautiful surroundings but the religious decorations inside the hotel might put off others. The interior needs updating

I stayed overnight for business recently. The hotel is situated in a green and pleasant area of Surrey hills.
The room was well equipped with bottled water and coffee/tea with kettle. The bathroom shower was excellent, supplied with toiletries.
Only regret was that breakfast wasn't included in the price and didn't have time to stay for longer.

On our last night, at approximately 7am, the fire alarm in our room went off, jolting us awake in a panic. Assuming there was a fire, we quickly exited our room, only to find we were the only ones outside. Concerned and confused, I called reception, only to be told that our room’s alarm was faulty. Naturally, I was extremely upset, especially given that my pregnant wife had been startled awake by the alarm—a shock that could have easily led to complications or early labor.
Upon checkout, I raised the issue again with the staff, only to be given a completely different explanation. This time, they claimed it wasn’t a faulty alarm but rather that another guest had been smoking in their room, causing the whole building’s alarms to go off. However, when we asked other guests, no one recalled hearing any alarms go off, which makes me believe the initial explanation about a faulty alarm was correct.
To make matters worse, the alarm went off twice during our stay without any apparent cause, which only raises more concerns. If there had been a real emergency, a faulty alarm could have had severe consequences. This incident was handled terribly by the management; the manager seemed indifferent and didn’t even bother to offer a sincere apology. I was simply told there was “nothing they could do.”
The safety standards at this hotel appear to be seriously lacking, and this incident should be investigated immediately. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone concerned about their health and safety.
