About this cottage rental
Beautiful accommodation for 6 guests walking distance to the beaches of East Wittering and Bracklesham and 8 minutes in the car to beautiful West Wittering beach.
This stunning home has been finished to a very high contemporary standard throughout for guests to enjoy a luxury stay near the sea. The hosts really have gone out of their way to made this a comfortable and welcoming home from home. We invite you to make memories here in every season! The house heating and hot water supply has recently been updated and is controlled by HIVE allowing for simple, on-the-fly local adjustment to meet guests needs.
Entering the house into the porch area there is a WC. The stylish, comfortable sitting room is to the front of the house with large cosy sofas and a huge smart TV with Sky connected. Just off the sitting room there is a home office which guests are welcome to use to work from home and here you will also find a collection of board games to enjoy on the colder evenings.
The kitchen overlooks the sunny garden and the hosts have gone to every trouble to make sure guests can comfortably self-cater for their stay with electric oven and induction hob, Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, fridge freezer and microwave. There is also an iron and washing machine.
Off the kitchen there is a breakfast bar and snug area with another sofa for relaxing, reading and chatting, leading through to the dining area with a large dining table with plenty of seating for six. This room overlooks the garden with large doors so you can sit on summer evenings and enjoy what you have whipped up in the lovely kitchen, making memories with family and friends.
Upstairs there are three beautifully furnished bedrooms. One super king room, one king room and one twin room. There is an en suite shower room to the super king bedroom and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. Both equipped with contemporary bathroom fittings.
Outside, guests can use the lovely sunny garden and to the front of the house there is off-street parking for two cars.
Cabane Mont Fort is just 12 minutes walk from the beautiful beach at East Wittering a mecca for surfers, wind and kite surfers and just 8 minutes in the car to popular West Wittering Beach. The bustling village of East Wittering is packed with independent shops, cafes and restaurants and friendly locals. A must try during your visit is Drift and Hammetts Kitchen.
More comprehensive shopping Chichester is just a short drive to the north with the fabulous Goodwood Estate, home to The Revival and Festival of Speed just a little further.

This property is very comfortable, spacious and local. Clear instructions on how to get there. Well equipped with plenty of saucepans and cutlery.
There were a few observations - not criticisms - which could be born in mind if the property is booked for next Xmas:
There were 5 of us cooking an Xmas meal and NY meal - there was only one roasting tin, and one oven glove (I had packed extra as this has happened to me before in a rental)
No instructions handy for WiFi code (we found it though!) oven, stove, dishwasher, etc; no recommendations on pubs/places to eat - ie no welcome book
The water pressure in the general bathroom is quite low
The overhead lighting in the lounge is glaring, but poor without it - perhaps a dimmer switch required?
Heating - generally the house was chilly despite the heating being on
The outside light (next to front door) needs a bulb
We bought extra toilet rolls and dishwasher tablets during our stay (not sure if we were supposed to but there wasn't enough for the 10 days we were there).
But we did have a really nice time and would stay again! Thanks and HNY to you.

Very nice stay, great location, all necesaary equipment inside, very clean and nice decor. The only downsize was that bunk beds were slightly too low for tall teenagers age 15. Overall very nice stay.

This is a good house in a good location. It is situated in the middle of a modern estate of private homes and most of the facilities and local attractions are as described in the agent's description. There is one glaring problem; The directions to the property, issued by the agent, show the house as Number 12 Chaucer Drive. It is actually No. 4.
The description of the facilities is pretty accurate except that it says that there is a home office that guests are able to use. There is not a home office, however that was not an issue for us.The most suprising omission is the absence of a folder with guest information. Nothing about recycling, local doctors/dentists/hospitals, restaurant recomendations, Instructions for the rather baffling TV.(particularly irritating) The agents description mentions the new Hive controlled heating - no instructions.
A couple of minor issues, the master bedroom does not have a mirror and the Roman Blind needs attention.

We stayed at Cabane Mont Forte over the May Bank Holiday as we were visiting friends in the area. The house is located on a quiet estate; we initially pulled up to the wrong house number quoted in the directions from the agent but soon found the right place.
The house was very welcoming, spacious and comfortable. Super clean with everything we needed. We did not use the hob or oven due to eating out. The beds were great and we all had a good night's sleep. The shower in the ensuite was quite noisy but this didn't detract from our stay; feedback about the family bathroom shower from one of our party was that the water pressure was low.
We would definitely stay here again when visiting our friends in the future. The shops are about a 10min walk
