The price for accommodation was affordable. Lovely rustic setting. A huge barn style type house when you pull up the driveway. The owners send you the important info and great directions to find your way to the property which was really helpful for us who don't live in Auckland and had to use GPS. All the facilities one needs to have a comfortable stay... each room had an oil heater and then a heat pump in the lounge dining area. Was lovely to get up each day and visit the horses in the paddock next door. Awesome view when we went outside in the morning... awesome view of city lights at night time too. Very nice stay!
Just one of the toilets became blocked but there was another in the smaller bathroom. Once we got used to getting to & from the house... having to drive further down the road to turn back around to get to the driveway was no problem... a safer way to get to the driveway.

To be honest, I was a bit nervous about this property, as it has a mixed bag of reviews. But as we were staying for three nights, and our group was made up of my husband and me, our 18 year old daughter, and my 86 year old mother, I wanted somewhere that was spacious, had plenty of room when we were together, but also, our own space if we wanted it, something this property has: - two living areas, two shower rooms and toilets, and generously sized bedrooms. Is it a five star motel? No. Is it a bit tired looking? Sure. But, did this in anyway make a difference to our satisfaction with this property? Not at all. What mattered is that it was clean, with everything that was required for a comfortable stay. And best of all it cost us easily half of what a motel would have charged. I would also add that the host was very accommodating to meet the needs of my 86 year old mother, for which I was very grateful. While we were in Pukekohe for a specific reason and are not likely to need to stay again, nonetheless, if we were looking for accommodation in Pukekohe, we would happily stay here again.
A little bit more attention to detail would be appreciated, eg wall lights beside each other, one had cool lightbulb, the other had warm lightbulb.
The sheet on one of the beds wasn't big enough, was just sitting on mattress, couldn't be tucked in, and as other reviewers have pointed out there was no top sheet, even though the host has commented that the duvet covers are washed every time.

Good location, nice comfortable property to relax at across 3 days.
Our initial observation was that the cleaners had missed a number of areas, particularly the cobwebs around the front door and lights. Some of the dinner plates and cutlery was not very clean and still had remnants of food on them.
The guests at the other 2 units on the Saturday night (21 June) were quite disruptive, vehicles arrived at 11pm, 2am, 4am, and 7am causing enough noise for us to be woken, and they were loud and drinking at 7am.
