The Bay Escape -Lovely 3bd house

The property was in a good location 5/10 minutes walk to the quay and a 23 minute walk to the town and train station. There was a wide range of bars and restaurants to choose from. The beds were comfortable and the place was clean.

On arrival the key code did not work!! Every time we tried it said failed and an alarm went off. It took an hour and a half for someone to reply to the numerous messages I left on the answer machine, leaving us standing outside worried we may not get in. First appearance was that the house needed a bit of TLC inside and out. There was a very small space outside, that was fine as the property does not advertise an outside area however when you did go out or look through the window, there were cigarette butts on the floor and it was dirty, overgrown with some broken furniture. It just needs tidying up!!

It was absolutely perfect for us and beyond our expectations

The house itself was in a decent location , and the amenities were okay in the house too! The hosts were quick to reply and seem like good people. Lovely decor, good quality furniture.

Unfortunately I’m not sure if they have cleaners in or clean it themselves but the house was very dirty , grease marks on the cooker, hair in the bed on the pillow case which indicates they don’t get changed per guest which gives me the ick a bit, hair on the coffee machine, bits on the carpet and all the floors to be honest i wore my shoes the whole time as I didn’t want to walk around in socks, also went to use some of the water from the water filter in the fridge to find it covered in mould. I also think there is a bad damp problem as I could smell damp the whole time throughout the whole house (i’m familiar with it) and have woke up with a very sore throat. I had my stay at a slightly discounted rate and i’m still unhappy that I even paid that and although the property is big and has good furniture to me personally I wouldn’t stay again because of the lack of cleanliness, which is very sad to say as I know they are trying to run a business. I don’t know if this was an over sight with my stay but i’m just speaking from my experience.
