Devil's Lair, self-contained eco cabin at McHenry Distillery & Brewery

Very secluded and peaceful location and well appointed cabin. Loved the bake at home croissants and really enjoyed meeting the staff and one of the owners at the distillery.

Our stay was exceptional. The Devil’s Lair cabin is perched atop a mountain, with breathtaking, uninterrupted views that make it feel truly special. We lit the wood fire and the cabin quickly became warm and inviting—perfect for a cozy night in. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The fresh croissants for breakfast were a thoughtful and delicious touch. Before heading up to the cabin, Sam guided us through a gin and whisky tasting—he really stood out with his knowledge and genuine passion for the craft. We also had the pleasure of chatting with Bill McHenry, which made the experience even more memorable. We’ll definitely be returning!

Stunning location, well equipped, comfortable. Lots of wildlife which I loved, will definitely be back!

We genuinely relaxed feeling like we were away from the busyness of life. The view from mt. Wellington (kunyani) all the way down to hartz mountains and the south coast was spectacular. The stars were so visible without any light pollution. The bed was so comfortable that we have begun to see if we can change our mattress and pillows at home to see if we can replicate the comfort level.
