Habitat - Casa Vacanze Perugia

This very spacious rural apartment is the whole top floor of the property, and Giacomo’s family live on the first floor. There are two big double bedrooms with lots of wardrobe and drawer space, a third bedroom with twin beds, a main bathroom with bath, shower, toilet, washbasin and bidet (and a lovely view from the window…) A second bathroom has toilet, washbasin, a big sink for possible clothes washing, and the washing machine. A big lounge/dining room has a large table and chairs for six people, and a comfortable sofa for tv watching or relaxing. The balcony is over the length of the building, and is perfect for morning coffee or evening drinks before dinner, just looking at the view. There are chairs and a table on the balcony. The kitchen has all you need to self-cater, and the local Conad or Eurospin supermarkets had everything we wanted for food and drink, excellent wine choices, local Sagrantino red wine highly recommended! Giacomo studies at the local university and speaks very good English, and he is always available on text or WhatsApp to answer questions or help with arrangements, he’s a star! Anything you need, just ask. Nothing was too much trouble. The hire car was safe inside electric gates, in a car port covered from the sun, or rain, on one occasion! A car is essential for visiting Umbria. A bus went from a nearby stop into Perugia (driving into the city not recommended, awful traffic and nowhere to park) which was convenient, takes about 20 minutes and cost €4. But you need a car to visit the other wonderful Umbrian towns like Spello, Orvieto, Todi, Assisi, Spoleto and Lake Trasimeno. All highly recommended, we had a brilliant holiday here. We have stayed in many apartments in Italy over the past 25 years, and this was one of the best, thanks to Giacomo and his family.

There are 36 wide marble stairs up to the apartment, which is the second floor of the property. Think about this if you’re not good with stairs… The local side roads are in poor condition, if you’re used to driving in the uk, it’s home from home with all the potholes!!!

Amazing host, very friendly and personal. Even spoke good English, which isn’t as common in this area. Very nice apartment that was very spacious and very clean. Amazing views from the balcony. I definitely recommend this place!

The only thing was the public transport connection. Not something the hosts can do anything about. But there was only one bus that stopped close-bye that takes you to the centre of perugia. This bus goes every hour and doesn’t drive past 8:30 PM. Taxis are of course a possibility though.

Excellent location for companies and families to explore Assisi, Perugia and the region. Very spacious, well equipped, friendly and helpful host.
