Villa Francigena is a stunning country villa in Tuscany in a 10 mins drive from the town of Lucca and 30 minutes from the beaches of Versilia and more exactly along the world-known Roman time road Via Francigena leading pilgrims from all over Europe to Rome and then to holy land once traced these hills passing close to the farmhouse and still today walkers can be seen on their journey of faith. Originally built in the 15th century, the recently renovated farmhouse villa on a hectare of beautifully landscaped gardens features expansive open-air living and dining areas, exquisite interiors, and ten superb bedroom suites sleeping twenty guests. The owners’ artful remodeling project has breathed a contemporary spirit into the vintage Tuscan home. The main dining room with farmhouse table is perfect for nighttime feasts with family and friends. Gourmet travelers will adore the fully equipped kitchen, which includes a eight-burner cooker, double oven, double dishwasher, american fridge with ice maker and French doors opening onto the outdoor dining area and the wood-fired pizza oven. The spacious kitchen is loaded with high-end appliances, marble counter tops, and extra seating at the breakfast bar and table.

I can’t say enough about this amazing property … everything from the gardens to the architecture to the interior design was stunning. While the location is a bit remote, we found it a delightful location to spend quality time with family and friends. We indulged in a cooking class, making homemade pasta topped off with Tiramisu. Truly one of the most memorable trips our very well traveled family has experienced.

Our family absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful villa in Lucca! It was even more stunning in person than in the photos — professionally decorated, spacious, and thoughtfully equipped with every convenience you could imagine. The attention to detail was incredible, from the high-quality furnishings to the fully stocked kitchen and cozy living areas.We especially enjoyed the pool area — it was private, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. We enjoyed several local wineries in the area! There was plenty of room for our entire family to spread out comfortably, yet the home still felt warm and welcoming.Everything about this villa exceeded our expectations. We would happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, well-appointed home in a serene setting among the Tuscan hills.

It was well-equipped, felt luxurious and had more than ample space for our group of 18. We had people ranging in age from 4-81 years old and it was ideal for everyone. With multiple indoor communal spaces, the patios and the pool, plus the 7 bedrooms in the main house and 3 in the annex, we had plenty of space to gather (or get some alone time). The AC worked well and the villa remained cool despite fairly warm outdoor temperatures. The dining room is amazing and sat our entire family. We had a chef come in one night and there was plenty of space in the kitchen to prep a multi-course meal without impeding the rest of our family activities (Side note: we LOVED our chef from Tastemotions in Lucca, and highly recommend them, check them out!) . We strongly recommend the villa. The only note I might add (if it's not clear from the photos), is that the pool is a little walk down a hill from the house this did not bother us, but FYI.
