Fenix Hotel Hollywood

Booked the Fenix hotel which turned out to be not a Apart Hotel but an apartment block with rooms more like an Air B and B. You will not receive enterence codes into the building untill you download the link sent a few hours before your expected arrival. You have to upload a photo I'd and credit card, this kept being refused and took at least 10 attempts and over an hour, You then receive a number for the entrance gate and front door and room. On arrival we found out that there was no water and did not receive a txt untill some time later saying that it would not be back on untill 8pm that evening. We were exhausted and all I wanted was a hot drink and a hot bath. The building has a strange smell but the room itself was not that bad. The beds are OK, the pillows were a bit bouncy but just personal preference. The floor was dirty, so much so that my feet were black after ten minutes without shoes. The cleaner did not come untill 2 days after arrival and was just emptying bins and replacing coffee, I did request that the floor be mopped when I was texted there was to be a cleaning visit. The kitchenette was just a sink, fridge, microwave and coffee machine. There were two plastic cups, 4 bowls and 3 plates. A couple off spoons, forks and knives. The microwave was old and made a terrible noise. The washing machine was an added extra. The air conditioning works but is very noisy,so much so that there was ear plugs, which could also be because of the traffic noise. The noise from the room above was terrible as absolutely no noise insulation and I assume that the room above was a permanent resident as got up about 6.30 in the morning to go to work, put on he washing machine etc. I also found used ear plugs and a face cleaning pad by the beds on the floor. The apartment is not in the nicest of areas but also not the worst. I suggest you look on Google maps satellite view for more of an idea, I wish I did.

You can hear the traffic loudly. Last night there were flashing lights in my window. You can hear folks on floor above like a cheaply built building. Other than that it’s clean large and decent. No lobby. Use codes to get in. Cumbersome arrival due to misinformation on my reservation. Would not return.

Took me weeks to find a decent hotel and this one was surprisingly good. A bit expensive but the amenities were a plus point! They have microwave, laundry and dryer machine inside the bathroom, they even have a vinyl record player and smart TV for netflix! We also didn’t mind having too many codes for each area. Just a heads up regarding the parking it’s $25 per night. Expensive but at least your car is safe and secured

The hotel is near the Stars of Fame and Madamme Tussad with around 8 mins walk. The front entrance is facing main road and if you're calling private hired driver should use the side entrance. Everything was great but there's a few things I'd like to highlight. There's no ramp on both entrance, you have to move luggage up the stairs. And this is a contactless hotel so no staff at most of the time. When urgent things came up do expect some of the things cannot be solve immediately especially after the checkout time. Few codes need to remember and enter before entering the rooms I think is for safety reasons. Owner was kind so with this price point so far so good.
