This is an old hotel that has been nicely updated.Pro's: Clean, comfortable rooms. Located in the midst of downtown, quite close to many restaurants, the riverfront, and shopping. The staff were pleasant and helpful.Con's: No parking, contrary to the website description. In one place it says "parking available", and in another "we offer valet parking". What it doesn't say is that valet parking, at 55-65 PER DAY, is the ONLY parking available. Very deceptive. Every hotel offers valet parking, so we didn’t even think to question this statement. This unexpected cost was very hard for us. In addition, they charge another 30.00 per day extra for what they call a "destination charge". They say it is for the workout room, which we did not use, and includes two bottles of water the first night only, (6.00 bottles of water are available in the room) then a 15.00 "shopping credit" for their restaurant or the extremely overpriced snack/drink shelf behind the front desk. Basically a forced shopping charge. But you must scroll way down to the endless rules below the listing to know about it.They do not make up your room unless you request it at check in. We were not told this until we returned at the end of the day and called down to find out why we had no clean towels and such.My final asessment is that, although the room and bed were adequate, I would not return to this establishment in the future. There are just too many extra charges and odd rules to offset any pro's.

Former shell of the grand old KIMPTON Monaco Hotel. Handles on bath faucets falling off, have to ask for a coffee maker, no housekeeping unless requested (they said staffing problem). Restaurant not open for lunch and not on Sunday or Monday dinners. It’s sad to see a once regal hotel fall from grace. I have been a customer for approximately 35 years. This was my last stay.
