Cocoonr Agency offers you L'Octopus, a superb apartment with a mezzanine and exterior located in a quiet street in the Bompard / Roucas Blanc neighborhood, on the hill of Notre Dame de la Garde. Entirely renovated in 2023, it offers a beautiful living space with a fitted kitchen, a lounge/TV corner, a small patio with a mural from which the apartment takes its name, a nice shower room and a sleeping space on the mezzanine.
Composition of the apartment:
The Octopus is located on the ground floor of a neighborhood house. You will be charmed by its layout and its decoration which make it a very pleasant place to live. You will enter the main room and its living room. At the back of the room is the kitchen-dining room and the access to the patio. On your right a large closet and access to the bathroom. In the main room there is a mezzanine for the sleeping area.
The apartment is fully equipped to make you feel at home: Air conditioning / Wifi / Dishwasher / Nespresso coffee machine / Welcome coffee capsules offered ...
For even more comfort, the owners have decided to invest in the following additional equipment: baby bed, ironing board and iron.
The apartment is an independent part of the owners' main residence.
Although characterized as a "chambre chez l'habitant", you will have exclusive use of the apartment, with your own entrance independent of the rest of the house.
You will be welcomed on site in a personalized way by a person of the Cocoonr Marseille agency who will present you the accommodation, answer your questions and give you the keys.
Sheets and towels of hotel quality (4/5 stars) are provided, your bed will be made on your arrival. Towels and bath mats are also provided. Wifi internet access by fiber.
Geographic location:
The Octopus is located in one of the most popular areas of Marseille, Le Roucas Blanc on one side and Bompard on the other. Quiet and residential district, on the hill of Notre Dame de la Garde. On one side you can go down to the Old Port, and on the other side to the beaches. The districts of Endoume or Perrier are not far either.
Notre Dame de la Garde is a 15 minute walk away.
The beach of the prophet at 18 minutes and the Old Port at 25 minutes on foot.
Transportation:
- The Bus line N°73 passes at 5 minutes on foot and will allow you to join the Corniche Kennedy.
- The bus line N°55 is also 5 minutes away and will allow you to reach the Old Port.
- Parking is free in the surrounding streets.
- The Saint Charles train station is 30 minutes away by bus N°73 + Metro Line 2.
- The Marseille Provence airport is accessible by shuttle bus to the Saint Charles train station but we advise you to use cabs or Uber drivers.

L'Octopus Fantastic place to stay, felt homely, little far from city centre but private and quiet. Place was still being cleaned on arrival but friendly hosts who made sure we had everything we needed. Lovely place to stay in a great city!

L'Octopus "The accommodation is fine. The outdoor space is not a particularly attractive place to sit as it is like you are sitting in the bottom of a well with very high walls!
The inside space is fine, the shower is great in particular.
The issue we experienced is with the neighbours. When we arrived c.7pm a neighbour knocked on the door about 8.30pm to ask that we turn off the outside light as it was shining into their apartment.
We sent a text message to the Agent to explain what had happened and ask they speak to the neighbour. No response.
The next day a note was pinned to the door asking for us to be more considerate neighbours and turn off the outside light. It had not been left on!
An internal light in the bathroom was left on as the steps from the bed are very steep and you cannot descend in total darkness.
We sent another note to the Agent. Again, no response.
The bed on the mezzanine is high - but comfortable, getting down is do’able but not great in the middle of the night"

L'Octopus Apartment itself was very nice. Outdoor area wasn’t how I thought it would look from the pictures. Very small and doesn’t get any sunshine at all which is a shame as I booked it thinking it was a terrace with sun. There’s an air conditioning unit out there also, so when turned on by the other apartment, blasts warm air into the small terrace meaning we were stuck inside. Had problems with our shades, the remote was broken and the air conditioning unit on outside so was stuck inside in the dark unfortunately. The room itself is lovely there are shops which are about a 10 minute walk away but extremely hilly. Needed to Uber to the beach and port which was inconvenient and expensive. Good amenities and responsive host however.
