We recently stayed at Percy Cottage in Devonport for nine days and had a truly wonderful experience. The unit was clean, tidy, and very well maintained, with all facilities working perfectly throughout our stay. The location is also fantastic, making it a great base for exploring the area.
What made our stay especially memorable was the kindness and hospitality of the host couple. They were incredibly thoughtful, responsive, and always quick to assist with any questions or requests we had. It was clear they genuinely cared about ensuring we were comfortable and well looked after.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Percy Cottage and will truly miss it. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Devonport and would happily stay again in the future.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay. The only minor issue for us was that the beds were a bit too soft for our preference. A slightly firmer mattress would have made our stay even more comfortable, but this didn’t take away from the overall positive experience.

We affectionately named this accommodation Percy’s ‘Perfect’ Cottage! It was simply ideal for us. The unit itself is spacious, bright, airy, clean, tastefully decorated and equipped with everything we needed during our stay. Lots of little touches like quality toilet rolls, beach towels, nice toiletries and night lights were appreciated. The location is beautifully quiet, in a residential area with nothing that disturbed us so we slept very well. It’s a 20 minute (flat and paved) walk to several large supermarkets and another 5 minutes into town. Also walkable are Mersey Bluff Lighthouse and Bluff Beach (lifeguarded). The hosts were lovely, checking that everything was ok on both arrival and our final day. We hired a car (there is a large garage with electric door and driveway) and loved exploring the local area. Our favourite was the Arboretum where we were able to see our first ever platypus. We would return in a heartbeat.
There is nothing we could improve.

A handy location to everything. Plenty of room in the home. Appliances all worked very well.
Internet and home entertainment availability very good.
Too close to the rail line which was annoying because the train sounded it’s airhorns at least five times early in the morning as it made its way into the centre of town.
The bed mattress in the main bedroom was worn out and sloped towards the window from the middle, which makes it unacceptable for two people to sleep in.
And the lower level single bed in the second bedroom was horribly uncomfortable to sleep in, so only one of the single beds in the second bedroom was comfortable.
