About this house rental
Welcome to The Arbutus Loft! Ardmore is an exclusive neighbourhood with very large lots surrounded by trees and ocean. Located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac this loft within a new executive home was completed in 2023. Start your morning gazing out the wall of windows that has you floating in the trees. What next? Access one of the many public forested trails; perhaps a 150m trail walk South to Coles Bay or a 600m walk North to Ardmore golf course, you will feel like you are living in a resort.
Ardmore is connected by trails throughout the neighbourhood allowing for walking, running, and cycling in the forest. Being on the west side of the peninsula we are sheltered which provides warmer air and ocean temperatures. Swimming and paddle boarding in Coles Bay is popular throughout the summer.
We designed this house with privacy in mind; no walls in the suite are shared with the living space of the main house. The 900 square foot loft is above the garage but has been fully soundproofed plus double drywall and triple pane windows, no need to tip toe around as we cannot hear each other! The living room/kitchen is open concept with a wall of windows and a skylight as well as a privacy window in the bathroom; it is an extremely bright and quiet suite that feels even roomier with 9 foot ceilings.
The Kitchen is spacious and complete with stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops and soft close drawers. It is fully outfitted including a Nespresso machine, kettle, waffle maker, pancake griddle, rice cooker and stocked with essentials such as Nespresso pods, tea, spices, oil, sugar and a few treats! Full size laundry is also available beside the kitchen.
Two bedrooms each with new high-end King size beds and black out blinds ensure a quiet and comfortable sleep. Plenty of room to hang and fold your things as each bedroom comes with closet organizers.
The living room has plenty of comfortable seating to enjoy a book or access your favorite streaming accounts on the 58” Samsung smart TV (cable is provided). Wi-Fi is lightning fast for use throughout the Loft including a small computer desk with pull out tray should you need to do a bit of work.
You will be comfortable year-round with heat and A/C provided by a mini split system as well as ceiling fans located in each bedroom. Fresh filtered air is continually circulated through the loft via an HRV system. No need for bottled water as all water to the house is processed through a state of the art filtration system.

The Arbutus Loft is a bright, spacious, welcoming and very well-appointed space. The kitchen was fully stocked for any possible meal preparation. The two bedrooms with king size beds were plush and luxuriously comfortable.Every amenity needed was available and the place felt like a new home. Beautifully designed, impeccably clean and located in a quiet cul-de-sac with walking trails steps away.I would highly recommend the Arbutus Loft to anyone who enjoys a quiet, comfortable space to relax for a few days or week.

This property lists Beach in the name, Beach in the amenities, and has the first picture being that of a beach with the label "Property Grounds." Because VRBO doesn't use full addresses (instead giving a bubble around where a property is), and this bubble overlaps a beach, all of this appears designed to make it seem like the property is on the water when, in fact, you can't see the water from the property at all and it's about a 400 meter walk to the nearest beach. Indeed, the place the photo was taken is, according to the owner "a short 35min paddle by canoe."
The actual loft itself is generally wonderful, well stocked, and beautiful. If it were not advertising itself as "beach," this would be a glowing review. As a getaway into the woods, it's top notch. But don't fall for the name and photo.
