Spent the weekend in Murphys with 3 family members. The rental worked nicely. It’s a 5 minute drive to town. Very quiet neighborhood. Well equipped kitchen. Clean. Excellent communication/instructions from owner.

We came to Murphys for a concert and booked a single night's stay. Appreciated the property's open floorplan and outdoor deck areas, with plenty of amenities and space for our group of six adults. We weren't concerned about the forecast of 106 degrees, as the listing states that property has air conditioning. Only wish we'd known it's not central A/C (swamp cooler only).
The thermostat located behind the TV really needs a sign that states it's used for heat only. We turned on the thermostat's A/C as well as the swamp cooler on the back deck and waited two hours for the place to cool with no results. The indoor temp reached a sweltering 94 degrees. No response from property manager when contacted through VRBO.
Thankfully, an emergency call to the owner was successful and we received instructions on how to properly operate the swamp cooler. (There are two water nozzles and apparently we'd chosen the wrong one.) Portable fans helped move the air around but the temp was still not as comfortable as we'd hoped for a $700 overnight stay.
Not sure how feasible this is, but when the forecast calls for extreme heat, it sure would be nice for the property manager to have the swamp cooler running before guests arrive so this spacious property has a chance to cool down. Otherwise, I would not recommend a stay during the hot summer months.

this cabin was as described/pictured and was perfect for our group of 6 adults and 4 children (infant thru 6). while we didn’t have a chance to explore the property, host/owner provided info/video on it. having an extra den/family room on the same floor was perfect to have kids have separate play area but could still easily monitored. host contact(s) were very responsive to all queries. would rent this cabin again in the future !
