About this house rental
The Gerton Getaway is newly renovated, modern, and spacious home in the mountains of Asheville with a hot tub and downstairs game room. Plenty of space for your family or friends (sleeps up to 12). This is a perfect space to relax and rejuvenate, and a jumping off point to Asheville (~25 mins), Chimney Rock (~15 mins) and Lake Lure (~20 mins). Gerton is also home to multiple renowned trails. Gerton, North Carolina is located in the mountains between Asheville and Lake Lure. The Florence preserve is a 600 acre conservation area with lush forest, waterfalls, overlooks and 5 plus miles of hiking. In the small town of Gerton, NC there are other trailheads including Bearwallow mountain, Trombatore Trail, Wild Cat rock and more. Very close is Chimney Rock State Park, Lake Lure, and Rumbling Bald State Park. There is also mountain biking, fly fishing, kayaking and rafting that is close as well. There are multiple fresh farm to table options close by including Hickory Nut Gap Farm with fresh local meats to dine in or take home and family farm actives on site. There are multiple farms in between Fairview and Gerton to stop and pick up fresh veggies. There is now a local store in Gerton! Bearwallow Provisions for small market needs and gear as well as a coffee shop! In Fairview are great local restaurants including The Local Joint, Piazza, Rise Above Bakehouse. And a few breweries, the Whistle Stop Brewing and Turgua. The closest grocery store is 7 miles from the house, on 74-A.
The house is set off the road with a small dirt drive. There is plenty of parking located behind the house.
**This is a pet-friendly property, we do charge a pet fee. You`ll see this upon booking! Reach out with any questions.
Up to 2 dogs are welcome at Gerton Getaways! Please add your dog(s) to your booking. The fee is $100 for one dog and $150 for two dogs for the entire stay. We are working on an honor system, so please let us know if you plan to bring pets as this affects cleaning. You are required to clean up after your dog in the yard. Please do not leave your dog unattended in the house.
For booked guests, you must include the total number of guests staying at the Gerton Getaway. Again, this is on the honor system. The number of guests affects cleaning. There is an additional fee of $20 per guest per night for more than 6 guests. Airbnb automatically adds this fee when you book.
Please note that we pay our cleaners a fair living wage. 100% of the cleaning fee goes to them. Their duties include all cleaning, laundry, balancing the hot tub, garbage collection, and more. Thank you for understanding and supporting our cleaners.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay for about a month with our French Bulldog along with family and friends who came and went during the month. Game room a big hit for young and old. Found the home to be clean and newly remodeled with lots of unexpected extras such as sharp knives, glass rinser, generous supply of glasses and flatware, amazing fire pit.... and on and on. Chuck, the handyman helped us as well as our guests (with travel trailer) and his wife cleaned the house extremely well. Enjoyed seeing the deer. Surprised to find dishes and blanket for the puppy. A bit of a drive to attractions, but overall a great and fun experience.

This cabin was perfect for us (6 couples, 5 kids age 5-11). Beautiful setting, close to lots of hiking, easy drive to Asheville, close to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. We actually didn't even go into Asheville like we had planned because there was so much to do in Gerton, Bay Cave, and Chimney Rock village. The game room was amazing, hot tub was great, house was immaculately clean, well decorated. Highly recommend!!

Cabin was in a great location not right near the road. Lots of games in working condition that the entire family enjoyed. Would stay again!

The property was perfect, everything you need was there. The hosts were so attentive and went above and beyond to accommodate our group. The game room was so awesome and our dogs loved running around the yard. The bunk beds were great for the kids and our party was so comfortable at the house. The house was really close to Chimney Rock which was the best day of the trip. Again cant say enough how great the hosts were! Highly recommend!
