Two properties in one, The Garden House is the perfect fit for a couple’s retreat, a family getaway, or simply a chance to slow down and reconnect. If you’re dreaming of a place where everyone can be together but still enjoy their own space, you’ve found it.
Our home sits on a quiet cul-de-sac in a hidden-gem neighborhood on the beachside of Highway One. Just 200 steps from the sand in Morro Bay’s beloved Beach Tract, it feels like your own secret hideaway by the sea.
The main house features two comfortable bedrooms, each with sliding doors that open to the back patio, where you can catch peek-a-boo views of the ocean. The bathroom is custom-tiled and thoughtfully designed—just the right size.
On the north side of our property, you’ll find the spacious Studio Suite with its own entrance. Inviting open floorplan, futon couch, and TV, with a slider to the back patio. Including a cute kitchenette and a beautifully tiled full bathroom. This suite has its own front garden patio plus a private back patio with a bistro table, perfect for morning coffee or an extra retreat when you want some quiet. It’s wonderful for grandparents, visiting couples, or anyone who’d like a little extra privacy.
To the south side, the Main House boasts sunlit rooms and vaulted ceilings that create an open and airy, vibe. The welcoming great room is cozy and open, the kitchen is fully stocked for family breakfasts or late-night snacks, and the space between the main house and the Studio Suite is our (always popular) garage/game room. Equipped with a pool table and ready for a little competition and bit of family fun.
Step outside and you’ll see why we call it The Garden House. Mature landscaping wraps around multiple patios, with a little waterfall feature out front, a hot tub tucked away for evening soaks, a rooftop deck with ocean views, and fire pits ready for marshmallows or wine under the stars. This home was made for making memories.
Bring the whole crew (up to six guests), and yes—your dogs are welcome too. They’ll love the yard as much as you do. We just ask a small pet fee of $35 per dog, per day.
When you’re ready to explore, it’s all at your doorstep. Wander the beach, collect sand dollars, and watch sea otters play in the waves. Take a day trip up the coast to Big Sur or Hearst Castle, or head just 12 minutes inland if you’re visiting Cal Poly.
A quick note: there’s parking for two cars in the driveway and one on the street (no RVs or large trucks, please). The house is non-smoking, and the booking guest must be at least 27. For extra peace of mind, we recommend travel insurance—because sometimes life happens.

This property was very nice ! The home was very clean and comfortable. We had multiple generations staying at the house so the separate suite was perfect for our family. It was close to the beach. The hot tub was relaxing and the outdoor space was amazing!

We had a wonderful time again. We love to play cards and games at the table at night time, and our only suggestion might be better lighting over the table. Thanks for your hospitality.

Great location and very clean. The unit itself had plenty of kitchen items, dishes, glassware, etc. However, the arrival process was frustrating. We never received check-in information from the manager/owner. When we arrived, no one was on site. We were able to do some online research and track down her phone number (not thru vrbo). When we called her she seemed surprised/unaware that we were checking in that day. She gave us access with no problem, but we should not have had to track her down. Day 2 we realized that there was no toilet paper in stock and we had used up the half roll that was in the holder by then. We texted the owner and she said the new housekeeper had forgotten to restock. She did reach out to us with a phone call and had TP delivered within the hour. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but she could have been more on top of things.
