We had a lovely warm welcome on arrival and attentive service throughout our stay. Room was brilliant, lovely character and very warm and cosy. All amenities we needed for our stay. Wonderful choice of hot breakfast dishes which were cooked and presented to a high standard and accompanied by fruits, yogurt, nuts, seeds, toast, preserves etc etc. Thoroughly recommend this beautiful charming hotel and will definitely stay again when in the area.

We enjoyed our night at The Abbey Hotel and spending time in Bury St. Edmunds.
Staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Access to car park is very tight especially for larger cars.
It is an old building matched by the furnishings etc. which did make it feel a bit like a care home in places!
The en-suite in our room could do with some tlc and the toilet seat definitely needs a deep clean or replacing.
Hubby enjoyed his breakfast, mine not so much as the eggs were overcooked.
That said, overall we had a good stay.

For an old, characterful building it was full of charm but all of the modern requirements. 10 electric sockets in our room! Bathroom very small but perfectly formed with good shower. Very comfortable bed and soft pillows.
Turning into car park is very sharp and distance between buildings to get to it very narrow.
