The host and his son couldn't have been more helpful and kind. His wife sent us a very generous portion of homemade yogurt to help settle our stomach after previous food poisoning. We were a last minute, late booking but the son was there to meet us and answer our questions.
It was a very brief stay so we were only there overnight. We found the beds hard and didn't sleep well but that could have just been us. The toilet in the ground where you have to squat took some getting used to!

The place was very clean and the owner was helpful. He arranged a taxi for me to cross the border of Kosovo for a fair amount of money. He speaks good English which is rare to find in Albania.
I was welcomed by the owners kid (10 years old) and did payment with the kid. Beds and mattresses were so uncomfortable. The location is a bit outside the city centre. There weren't any facilities like the kitchen, kettle, glasses, spoons, nothing (only fridge). The Internet was not so good but the situation was solved by connecting to the neighbours WiFi. The view from the window was the wall to the neighbours building. The stay was pretty much expensive for a standard of living in Kukës. You can find cheaper places in cities like Skopje, Prizren, or even in Brussels where I stayed for 17€ a night. That cannot be compared to undeveloped Kukës.
