About this apartment rental
This is an ideal summer holiday rental, part of a classic stone Tuscan farmhouse. The house offers magnificent views of the Tuscan hills and to the front of the Tyrrhenian coast stretching as far as the Corsica Island. It is close to the unspoiled romantic beaches around “ Golfo di Baratti “, Bolgheri, Castagneto Carducci, Casale Marittimo and historical sites and towns such as Pisa, Siena, Volterra, St. Gimignano, Lucca, Firenze.
The house has been fully and authentically restored with traditional local material and provides a comfortable, self catering stay for a family sleeping 4 people or for a couple. The setting is unique, sun drenched olive groves, the smell of the wild time and herbs in the summer, the clusters of wild flowers in the spring, the clear unpolluted air, and will give you the opportunity to immerse yourself in a lifestyle of dreams.
Trekking, mountain bike, Buddhism and more: Walk for miles along ancient tracks and stop to take in the breathtaking scenes that open up in front of you.
Bring your mountain bike if you are the sporty type, or enjoy new free roads among the fields on your motorbike, visit and enjoy birdwatching in the WWF protected natural area of the Lake of S. Luce.
Walk to the local Buddhist Centre of Pomaia and share the spiritual peace of the place for a few hours, or go to the local markets and rediscover what food used to taste like.
Bees, horses and wild nature: Choose your favourite way to live the countryside: help with the “smielatura”, the collection of honey and try some of the scented honey for breakfast; watch our horses being groomed and prepared for a ride; discover wild orchids in the field around the farmhouse; watch the red sun set from your porch sipping a glass of wine; take up painting.
Or simply watch the huge sky at night and myriads of stars and constellations.
History and beaches: Historical sites and towns The farmhouse is favorably positioned to visit some amongst the most beautiful towns in Tuscany: Pisa, Siena, Volterra, S. Gimignano, Lucca, Firenze and the traditional villages of Bolgheri, Castagneto Carducci, Casale Marittimo. Nestled within the “ Golfo di Baratti “ lays the necropoli etrusca of Populonia, today part of the interesting “Parco Archeologico e Naturalistico.” »link Seaside and Beaches Over 20% of the Costa degli Etruschi comprises parks, protected areas, nature oases, and fauna reserves. Nature is not just a setting, but the very essence of this land with its dense stands of pine trees, woods and countryside rich with colours and scents; a temperate climate throughout the year, with particularly mild springs, long summers and infrequent rainfall during autumn/winter, makes for enjoyable holidays all year round.
If you are interested in diving we offer a 'one day' discovery experience or a full (5 days) PADI open water course.

Marisa and Oswaldo’s house is an absolutely lovely place up in the hills, surrounded by nature. Marisa herself is the best you could ever hope for in a host. The house is quite isolated (a big plus for us), so if that’s not your thing, this might not be the best place for you. But if you love dark skies, butterflies, wild-flowers (in spring), friendliness (from Marisa) and dogs (all very friendly and great around kids) then you couldn’t really do better.

Meine Freundin und ich waren zum ersten Mal in dieser Unterkunft und werden mit Sicherheit wiederkommen.
Zunächst waren wir etwas verunsichert aufgrund der schlechten Zugänglichkeit mit einem etwas tieferen Auto, da es sich doch um einen relativ Steilen nicht asphaltierten Weg handelt (letzte 500 m). Als wir aber dort waren wurden wir mit unglaublicher Herzlichkeit, Ruhe, Entspannung und einem perfekten Zuhause für einen Urlaub belohnt.

Die Wohnung ist Ideal für eine Reise zu Zweit (auch mit Hund) ausgestattet. Es gibt ein sehr sehr bequemes Bett, eine zweckmäßige Küche und einen grandiosen Garten / Grundstück. Die Vermieterin wohnt mit am Objekt. Sie ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und angenehm zurückhaltend. Die Wohnung und das Grundstück sind sehr sehr sauber gewesen. Hundebesitzer sollten wissen, dass noch zwei Hunde mit vor Ort wohnen, sowie ein paar Katzen. Die Hunde kommen aber nicht in den Bereich der Wohnung.
Die Anreise mit dem Auto ist spannend, da die letzten 500 Meter über einen Schotterweg führen - da gilt es wachsam vor Schlaglöchern zu fahren. Wir empfehlen die Anfahrt vom unteren Zuweg. Diese ist wesentlich besser.
Das Haus liegt mitten im nirgendwo. Dementsprechend ist es den ganzen Tag extrem ruhig. Zum Strand gelangt man in ca. 30 Minuten. Wir empfehlen die Strände bei Marina di Cecina. Da gibt es einen sehr guten Hundestrand mit guten Parkmöglichkeiten.
Insgesamt waren es erholsame ruhige Tage in der schönen Toskana.
