Nice surroundings

Cleanliness was poor, there was a dirty handkerchief left, a toothpick left in the bedroom and crumbs behind the kettle along with packaging,peanuts left in the drawer next to the bed. Overall we found it dirty. We only had one bath towel and one hand towel for 4 nights

Self catering in the Lodge, this was excellent, my American friends were blown away.

We couldn't open the windows and it was rather warm during our stay.

The facilities on site were brilliant with the spa and courts and walking routes in addition to eateries and bar. The lodges meant that we were able to have a relaxed stay with our dogs. The afternoon tea we had was brilliant and the staff (a lady whose name I have forgotten, Hayley?) was excellently attentive.

We enjoyed our stay but a few recommendations. The price of the restaurant was a little steep for 2 courses in the evening and service wasn’t as attentive as for the afternoon tea, so I wouldn’t recommend that. I tried to access the gym a couple of times and the code didn’t work for me or someone else trying to get in … and there were no staff around to help me in. We had to go to reception to replenish coffees, etc as no one came round the whole week. There were facilities to clean ourselves but we feel someone should have come round at least once.

Setting was stunning. Think lodges need a bit of an upgrade .. carpeted stained and headboards in mist rooms were ripped and worn . Bulbs out in some bathrooms

That they only had a minimum of 6 plates, glasses and 3 dishwashing tablets ( we had to go to reception to ask for more. Vacuum hose wasn’t attached so didn’t work properly
