Unique atmosphere. However visitors to Jagschloss Walkenried need to know that there is no meal service other than breakfast. There are two restaurants within easy walking distance. The distance to Nordhausen is deceptive , although only 19 km the road is windy and sometimes narrow. Friendly staff.

The hosts were unbelievably friendly. Loved the place, the history and the condition of the property. I’d love to return - was a great getaway

Second time I have stayed here. Very welcoming, rooms are great, clean and comfortable. The open fire in the hall is great and the beer is very reasonable. Nice breakfast too. Limited places in the town to eat in the evening, depending on the night you stay.
