I mostly choose a place to stay in based on its ethos and what it stands for. Sanak retreat, their ethos on community empowerment and cultural preservatik. truly shines.
Every detail was thought of and intentional , with so much love. They support local livelihood and their mission is to empower the community around, collaborating instead of just building. I love the interiors, the furniture, that had intricate artworks depictive of Balinese culture.
Of course staying by a rice field, you hear nature sounds at night, but dont stay in a place like this if you dont appreciate it, or cant handle some bugs at night here and there. I slept very well, the bungalows are very comfortable and spacious! I loved the common hall view and the view from my bungalow.
Thank you Sanak Retreat for a wonderful stay, i will be back !
