About this apartment rental
Live the history inhabiting the medieval rooms of CASA LA GUARDIA at this classic apartment inside Lucca’a Walls. This apartment is built inside the Medieval left tower of the Bastion of Porta San Gervasio and within this rooms dating back to 1100s the guards (Guarnigione) and its chief lived to overlook and protect the town of Lucca from a vantage high point.
The interior of this three-level 3rd floor home breathes the country air through plentiful windows to overlooking the roofs and the hills surrounding the town. The cosy interiors includes a classic vintage and antique pieces, vibrant colours, Wifi connection, air conditioning and a kitchen with a lovely view. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and generous prep areas for the passionate cook.
Checking after 8.00pm is possible on request and with a fee of 50 euros, to be paid on arrival. After midnight, the late check-in fee increases to 100 euros.
COMPOSITION:
Main Floor (3rd floor of the building): living room, master bedroom, twin bedroom with ceiling window (just for light, not openable), bathroom, kitchen.
Upper Floor: 1 bathroom, laundry room, wardrobe room.
Top roof Floor: 1 bedroom with French window and amazing view. This was the bedroom of the chief of the medieval guards of the bastion.
Live the Italian history within these Walls. Be careful, this accommodation is not ideal for people with mobility restrictions.
Wifi speed 134 mbps
The rental property is located within the ZTL area (Limited Traffic Area, accessible only by permanent residents and people with special permission) and does not offer on-site parking.
The closest Parking Mazzini is located in a walking distance from the rental property, so leaving the car there prior reaching the apartment is essential. By following the road signs you will be able to avoid the ZTL area while driving to the parking.
We kindly inform all guests that the rental property is self catering so hotel-like services are excluded by law (reception, surveillance of the accommodation, provision of meals and drinks, daily cleaning and linen change, transfers). For such reason any additional service can be provided on request and with the collaboration of external qualified partners and charged accordingly.

Excellent located, close to Porta Elise, at one end of Via Santa Croce. You can get on the Wall path, visit all the old city inside it. Loved the bedroom at the last floor.

This apartment is cute and in a great location inside the walls of Lucca. The bedroom directly across from the front door has the most comfortable mattress, IMO. The bedroom upstairs has a great view. It really felt like home for 12 days, and I’d stay again in a heartbeat.
Also, pack small bags. Carrying a large suitcase up 72 stairs is not an easy task.

Lovely welcome from Cristina. Great location, great size and very well equiped. Wonderful views from the kitchen window. We were three couples and really enjoyed our stay here.
Our only issue was the water pressure in both of the showers. It was dire and really needs looking at.

Very pretty appartment in a superb location.
Many mosuitoes, very hard to keep rooms cool, power went out twice. Staff didnt inform clearly on check-out procedure, so we waited hours in vain.
Half the time during our stay, they didnt respond to our calls, and when we did reach them, there was negative communication.
But the place was pretty, central and local
