Nice place, had all the essentials, comfy and homely, good location. Good contact with hosts and friendly and helpful.
Personal preference perhaps but maybe could do with black out curtains in the bedroom as blinds let early morning light in a lot and possibly have privacy screen on the window in bedroom as people going past can look in easily so kept blinds down in the day time.

We have stayed at The Retreat before and this stay was just as fantastic as our previous stay. Twice now the operators of this great establishment have gone above and beyond to assist us when we accidently left important items behind. We will certainly be booking The Retreat again on our next visit to Holt. I would recommend The Retreat to anyone that wants to visit Holt and the surrounding area. You will not be disappointed.

Location and the feel of the apartment…clean, calm and comfortable!
One of the bedroom windows didn’t lock properly and so caused a draft. The bathroom was small… so you needed to make sure a towel was on the radiator so that you didn’t burn your arm when cleaning your teeth.

Clean, contemporary and stylish, large main room, free WiFi, decent bed. Excellent location only 2 mins to Main Street and town centre, with safe free parking a few minutes walk away. Owner was really helpful on phone with a couple of queries, which were actually on the info sheet, even though he was on holiday.
I found the sofas incredibly uncomfortable. Kitchen appliances were all fine but shortage of pots and pans - seemed to be just enough for 4 people. Bedroom was compact, with two small drawers in a vanity unit, but plenty of open- rail hanging space. Bathroom also compact but well equipped : worth knowing to bring a spare toilet roll. Couldn’t find a power point in bedroom.
