Villa Mahadevi 1 Open-Air Jungle Joglo Near Ubud

Un bellissimo Joglo immerso nella natura. Ti fa sentire parte di tutto il paradiso che c’è attorno. I suoni e la tranquillità che si vivono a Villa Mahadevi sono unici e sicuramente da ricordare. Lo staff sempre pronto ad ogni piccola e grande esigenza. La piscina al tramonto e la colazione all’alba non hanno prezzo!

Niente sono stati davvero dei bellissimi giorni

Beautiful Joglos immersed in the forest, you can only hear the sounds of nature and river beside the property.

Nothing!

We stayed in Joglo 1 in August. It is a very large bungalow with a veranda surrounding it. The views over the jungle are lovely and you can watch the sunrise in the morning. There is a nice outside bathroom, a large dressing area / sink inside the bungalow and a lot of storage area for clothes. The main bed is very large and comfortable and we had a second one in the room as we were 4 sharing as a family. There is a nice pool. It is a lovely place if you want to get away from it all, but I would have preferred somewhere with a bit more atmosphere.

As the website states, you do need to be aware that the villas are exposed to the elements. There is a large gap between the glass walls and the roof of the villa, the bathroom is outside and there was just a canvas flap over a section by the kitchen area. The jungle does get noisy, particularly after the rains, and whilst we were there this disturbed some of other guests. If you don’t want to feel at one with the jungle then this isn’t the place for you. Personally, I would have like more seating area inside the bungalow for relaxing in the evening, because when there are 4 of you and 2 are sat on the chaise longue there is no other seating. We had to keep bringing 2 outside chairs in to sit on. There is a lot of space in the bungalow that could accommodate this. We could have used the pool building but there was no one there so it was a bit soulless, so we wouldn’t go and sit down there in the evening. If you walk out of the property (past the dogs!), you can walk 15minutes along a sometimes busy road to some other restaurants and properties, and the start of the Ridge Walk. To get into Ubud you need to get a taxi, and it varies from 20-30mins depending on the traffic. If I was choosing again, I would prefer to stay slightly closer to Ubud. We had breakfast on two mornings and they arranged two trips for us, but when we went to pay on the last day we couldn’t pay by credit card which we didn’t realise. We had to get a Grab bike to the nearest ATM 20 mins away to withdraw cash, so be aware of this.

Huge comfortable beds with mosquito nets! Outside bathroom. Amazing being in the middle of nature. Wonderful falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle at night, a symphony of peace and calm. Swimming pool was like swimming in paradise! The bustling centre of Ubud is only a 20-30min drive away, but lots of other sites to visit in the vicinity too (by car). Staff were very friendly and breakfast was a delight. We would stay here again if we came back to Ubud!!!

Lots of cupboards, but some shelves quite dusty. Impossible to dry your swimming suits, towels etc. outside even with the sun shining, but that’s not really the fault of the resort but due to the humidity of the jungle!
