Great location, beautiful building - plenty of space (much bigger than the photos show). Comfortable throughout and well appointed - decent kitchen, plentiful hot water, really nice bathroom. Great views up the valley, with the added bonus of highland cattle and Galloways surrounding the cottage! A short drive into Ambleside for good pubs and restaurants. Plenty of walks on the surrounding fells without need to drive.
Cold - the night storage heaters don’t seem quite sufficient to keep the cottage warm in winter.
Finding the property in the dark was a little tricky as the name on the entrance is different to that in the description - look for the sign ‘Kirkstone Bed & Breakfast’!

Beautiful location with fine views of the hills. Cottage is very warm and comfortable. Excellent bathroom.

No email received about code for lock box. Also Willow cottage is VERY difficult to find, so directions would have been nice. Also, a sign at the end of the drive on the road side, saying Willow cottage ' would have been even nicer. Asked a local who'd lived there for 20 years, and he'd 'never heard of it'. Had to ring booking.com twice, for hosts contact phone numbers (neither of which, were answered), and to find out code for lock box. Also a very remote property, so you need to be quite fit, unless you plan to drive everywhere
