I liked that the street was very quiet, and its proximity to the seaside, the canoe lake with the birds, Appley Tower. It wasn't a huge distance from the hoverport, train/bus station or the shops either. I like the old-fashioned character to the interior of the house, and the kitchen was well kitted out. Everything was spotlessly clean throughout. It was very easy to find.
The telly was rather small for the size of the room, especially as my Dad requires subtitles. The EE internet service went down about 20x during my stay, which wasn't terrible, but hardly wonderful. The bed was squeaky. The 1800s decor was a little gloomy, and I'm not wild about paintings of fish heads and shipwrecks. The 15 stairs were very steep. The flat number was on a tiny plate near the drainpipe covered with leaves (fortunately, the neighbours had clear numbers displayed).

Location is great for Ryde town centre, the beach and the Travel Interchange. Very quiet street with a handy corner shop. Apartment was very clean and tidy with a fully equipped kitchen. Bathroom was good with a spacious shower. Very good instructions on accessing keys
Although not the fault of the flat owner, the property next door was constantly giving out a lot of smoke from a chimney. This meant it was not possible to open any windows as smoke entered the property. The bed was very uncomfortable. The decor was rather dark - brighter colours would have been much more welcoming and made the rooms look bigger perhaps. I know the staircase was steep from the description and is definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. There were also steps into the bathroom and utility area.

The location was excellent, very central to the town, beaches and public transport.
The flat was well equipped and had comfortable furniture especially the bed. Clear instructions were left about property equipment, local amenities and how to contact the owner if required. I did have to do this and they responded promptly in a friendly manner and resolved the problem.
I was staying off season and felt it was a little dark in the main room with only one lamp, adding another like an uplighter would definitely benefit the room.
The shower cubicle would benefit from a deep clean to remove limescale and mould in the sealant at the base.
I was a little disappointed not to find a pint of milk in the fridge to make that all important cuppa on arrival.
