Very good location, downtown, opposite of Cuza's statue and the Prefecture, close to the University, Pedestrian area (fountains) and the Old City Center (pubs, restaurants, Coffee-shops, bars). Very clean apartment, confortable couch and bed, freshly renovated. Very good communication with the the owner, handed over in person the keys, and offered a free of charge parking lot, reserved specially for us.
A reading lamp in the bedroom and a standing lamp in the living close to the couch is a must. A small filter/espresso machine or a french coffee press would be nice to have, some water bottles as well. The Thermo PVC windows frames in the living are curved due to bad/poor instalation, so you can hear day and especially during the night the traffic noise. Same traffic noise (but not at the same high level) also in the bedroom for those who are not used to it, it is one of the main traffic streets downtown Craiova. Can be fixed, if somebody brings it to the owners attention (needs some metallic "hooks/clamps" only, to firmly press the fix part of the window to the mobile one) One cannot get a good position AND a quiet neighborhood, I guess. Besides, locals have a special appetite for tuning the motors of their cars and bikes:-)) All in all, it did not diminish the good impression of the flat. To add, it is on the 1st floor (out of 3 or 4) in al old block of flats , probably build in the '50-'60, but , as written above, nicely renovated.
