Hotel Matuchi

Friendly staff, comfortable bed, excellent central location

Older building, sketchy stairs, and there is no "Do not disturb" sign so I had to ask the staff every day to not go clean my room. The shisha bar downstairs does leave a bit of a smell, but it's not as noticeable as I was expecting inside the room.

This was a charming hotel that’s very well located! There was a big market just outside in the square on Friday. It’s near a major shopping street and lots of restaurants and cafes. The bed was soft and comfy and I appreciated the large tub in the bathroom rather than a tiny euro shower. It’s a basic room but exactly what was advertised and at a good price. I was on the third floor and didn’t smell the hookah at all. Also the stairs are steep but they’re normal stairs for the city. The front desk person who checked me in was VERY kind and carried my bag up and we chatted the whole way.

No negatives!

Lovely helpful staff. Great little place for that price range. Yes the stairs are steep but nothing a healthy 70 year old couldn’t manage. Bed very comfortable and well laundered sheets. Right in the centre of town but quiet at night. My room had a bath, which is a bonus. Great water pressure. Really enjoyed our stay.

A little kettle would be nice

The location is excellent and the room was large and had everything I needed.

The bed was too soft and the mattress was sagging. The room only had an electric heater (fire hazard). The paint and wallpaper were old and needed a retouch. I expected better for this price.
