About this chalet rental

Chalet Pepé is a stunning chalet in the beautiful mountain village of Champagny L'Haut. There is a regular ski navette bus that stops every 30 mins during peak times, just 200m from the chalet. It takes about 10 mins, slightly less by car and drops you at the foot of the main gondola in Champagny en Vanoise linked to La Plagne and part of Paradiski. At 1500m, you have sledging and tobogganing outside your chalet for most of the winter and you can join the cross country trails from your doorstep. * A free navette bus runs from near your chalet to the main Champagny cable car every 30 mins during the ski season. It is 5km or 8-10 min drive.

*If you don't want to cook, there is a web site that pairs you up with locally based chefs, although a lot of these won’t add themselves to the site until nearer the ski season: www.lechaletchef.com
*You can alos arrange morning bread and croissant deliveries from the local bakery. There are also two good supermarkets in the village to buy supplies – or a huge hypermarché 25 mins down the road in Moutiers.

Chalet Pépé is a beautifully converted, traditional Savoyarde farmhouse, with its own private swimming pool, steam room and sunken outdoor hot tub. Set in the heart of the spectacular ancient village of Champagny L'Haut, it has picturesque views up the valley and as far as the eyes can see. It is truly magical when you see Bouquetin and Chamois foraging in the snow from the chalet.

The chalet faces south east, with fabulous views from the living areas and the 3 front bedrooms with private balconies. Each of the 7 bedrooms has its own beautiful en-suite shower room or bathroom, all with private wc's. One of the double bedrooms has an internal door connecting it to a bunk room, making an ideal family room. There is also a ninth sleeping area in a small attic room above the second living room. The chalet sleeps a comfy 14 adults but you can fit in a total of 18 if you use the bunk room and attic rooms.

The chalet has been owned by the same local family for several generations and has been sensitively and beautifully renovated, using local materials and traditional building methods.

The cross country piste passes very close to the chalet, so perfect if you like this form of exercise and is just a 5 minute drive from the alpine pistes in Champagny, just down the valley, which links you into the vast ski area of La Plagne and Paradiski.

Champagny en Vanoise - Village Resort: Champagny is an authentic mountain village with a character that still reflects its ancient farming origins. Tiny paths link old farms and chalets in a village where traditional Savoie life and modern tourism mesh seamlessly together. The village has a lively atmosphere with shops, bars & restaurants within easy walking distance. At night, Le Timbale, Les Rochers & Le Pichouan are the main focal points for socialising and dancing .

Skiing & Boarding at Champagny: A cable-car whisks skiers to the Champagny ski area (2000m) in just 7 minutes which is where you’ll find the nursery slopes. Three brilliant long blue runs are great to learn on and progress to while advanced skiers can zip on to the superb off piste either side. You have a choice of two red runs to take you back to the village at the end of the day. Champagny offers direct access into La Plagne, but is less busy, so is much quieter and more pleasant, especially during peak weeks.

Skiing & Boarding the Paradiski Area which includes both La Plagne and Les Arcs, the two linked together by the biggest cable car in the world, the huge 'Vanoise Express Telecabine'. The whole ski area covers a massive 425km of finely groomed pistes in one of the biggest interlinked ski areas in Europe. With over 180 blue and red runs to cruise down, most skiers and boarders can travel vast distances around the 16 villages. Some very long black runs descend both the Bellecote Glacier (3250m) and the Aiguille Rouge (3225m) both on and off piste. There are also several, into the pretty tree lined runs descending into Vallandry , Plan Peissey and Montchavin. There are also numerous mogul fields in the area and 2 board parks, half pipes and boarder cross runs.

* Linen and cleaning are included for high season 7 night bookings and not included for these weekend booking prices and spring, summer and autumn months. You can bring your own, or order through us at an additional cost.

Our stay at Chalet Pépé was truly amazing from start to finish. The chalet itself is stunning—very modern and beautifully renovated, yet it still feels cozy and authentic. We were immediately impressed by how clean everything was; the attention to detail is top-notch.As a group that loves to cook, we found the kitchen to be exceptionally well-equipped with everything we could possibly need. The highlight of our trip, however, was the spa area. After a day on the slopes, retreating to the indoor pool, the hamam (steam room), and the outdoor jacuzzi was pure bliss. Everything was warm, spotlessly clean, and incredibly relaxing. The hospitality was equally impressive. The people at the chalet were very friendly and welcoming. Having fresh bakery items delivered right to our door every morning was such a luxury and the perfect way to start our days. The location in the peaceful village of Champagny Le Haut is magical—we even saw some wildlife from the balcony! We had a fantastic time and would definitely go again. Highly recommended!

We stayed in chalet Marmotte for 4 days, when we visited Champagny for a ski break. Communication with the owner was great, with a lot of information provided in advance as well as a lot of options given (buy our ski passes for us with a small discount per pass as well, food choices, ski lessons, airport transfer). The chalet manager also contacted us separately to provide information and ask if we had any special requirements. The chalet is part of a complex of several other properties it shares some of the facilities (sauna, swimming pool, game room). It is in a quite neighborhood, approximately 400 meters from the gondola that connects Champagny with the rest of La Plagne. Unfortunately it is fairly uphill to get to the gondola but the chalet team ahs made an arrangement with a ski hire location next to the lift for the customers to leave their shoes there. The place has 20 beds in total but it gets very tight if all the beds are occupied. Also the rooms in reality are 7 with 2 of them being family rooms with a mezzanine space above the main room with 4 and 2 extra beds respectively. These are great for kids but if the group has more than 7 couples, sleeping arrangements can be made complicated. The team that hosted us and sorted the breakfast and dinner were really polite, professional and enthusiastic about hosting us. They made every effort to please us and made our stay enjoyable. Breakfast could have more variety and quantity but the team there made extra effort to accommodate us once we pointed that out. Dinner was really good with 3 courses that were different every day and some special arrangements for a toddler in the group. Overall a really nice time, definitely would recommend it for a large group, especially if there are families with kids. If the group is more than 16-18 adults with several couples, it might be worth combining it with one of the other smaller properties in the complex.
