Rouge Loft Mango is located on a quiet residential street out of the main area of Ubud which was pleasant to return to after the craziness of Ubud central. The couches were very comfortable, the pool great to swim in and interior design very attractive, showcasing interesting art and craft. The property is serviced daily by friendly staff and fortunately there is a laundry down the road as there is no access to the laundry at the property.
We felt it was located a little too far away from any services so a taxi was definitely necessary to get into Ubud itself, walking having proven to take well over an hour and on some pretty tricky roads. Fortunately we were able to get some supplies by calling into a supermarket after a day trip north. The master bedroom is huge and well appointed but at the cost of the second bedroom where there is a severe lack of storage space for cases and belongings for guests using that room. The exterior walls could certainly do with a wash to showcase the property to its full advantage.

We had a lovely time at Mango Loft. The butler, Sri, and her staff were really helpful.
The villa is very nice, perhaps over-priced for its location and kitchen amenities. The staff are great but it is clear that the owners do not like to pay for maintenance. There were little things that were a bit annoying. The toilet behind the kitchen has a door can’t be opened from inside - clearly it’s been like that for long time… we nearly had an unfortunate disaster there. The main bedroom door doesn’t close properly - you have to lock it closed to keep the bugs out. The painted concrete is a nice finish, but it is now stained with mould - it needs repainting or a high-pressure clean.
The kitchen was ok but it was a bit disappointing that there were no basic provisions…you arrive and immediately have to go shopping. If we had known, we would have bought our own salt, pepper, oil, milk, tea - those basics that most apartments provide nowadays. We had a bit of a battle to get a decent kitchen knife… there was just a very small paring knife to do everything. Eventually, Sri was able to persuade the owner to pay for two longer knives which was great. Thanks Sri!
There was no clothes iron, however we found a very friendly laundry close by who charged very little for an ironing service.
The rooms are comfortable, good aircon, very comfortable bed. I wasn’t a fan of the “rain” shower - I used the normal one outside. And my partner loved the bath. The second room is just as good but with no bath. The rooms aren’t connected, you have to go outside to move next door….good for two couples.
There is no TV, just two Bluetooth speakers, we watched a couple of films on our iPad. Wifi is not bad. The pool is lovely.

There are many local dogs and walking to the apartment at night is scary - we had three dogs barking and snarling at our legs. Use a taxi if you can, we used the “Grab” on-line service to book them…and bring take-away food. Very handy.

The most beautifull place and we loved the design. Just outside Ubud but just a small walk from 5 star dining or local warung to take food to the house. The staff was 5 star slways helpfull we cannot revommend this villa enough.
