About this house rental
Privacy, privacy, privacy! The Rookery, a beautifully appointed home designed by well-known architect Edgar Allan Steinau at the world-renowned Sea Ranch, sits at the end of a cul-de-sac. Occupying nearly an acre of forested land with its own private creek, the house looks out over the ocean, with blue and white water views. Inside, you will find gorgeous wood interiors, a rock-faced fireplace, and beamed ceilings. A generous galley kitchen with arched brick cooking center, dining room, living room, and master bedroom suite fill the first floor, providing easy access for those with mobility issues. Upstairs you'll find a second bedroom, bathroom and office/den with a comfortable sleeper sofa bed. The itself house can sleep 6 (two full bedrooms and a den, which has a foldout sofa bed); in addition, a huge bonus room with a queen bed, sofa, standing gas fireplace, and a third bathroom, sits above the large 2-car garage (available for a reasonable extra fee; please inquire). Outside is the place to be with two decks, a meditation garden, and a large hot tub. Enjoy dinner on the outdoor grill while you stare at the stars and listen to the wind in the conifers.
We are also doing our share to keep you safe during these challenging times. We have instituted Covid restrictions, requiring 48 hours between guests--24 hours to protect our housekeeper, and a further 24 to protect guests.
The Sea Ranch is a planned community with over 3000 acres featuring: The Historic Sea Ranch Chapel, The Sea Ranch lodge (restaurant and shopping), a 50-mile trail system with 6 public beach access points, 18-hole golf course (open to the public), dog park, bocce court, and 3 recreation centers with outdoor pools, locker rooms, half-basketball court, and tennis courts (amenities vary with each center) for guest use. Unfortunately, due to COVID, the rec center facilities are temporarily unavailable, but all outdoor activities remain to be enjoyed.

Wonderful stay in this beautiful home. Very clean and cozy, huge very private deck with large hot tub and grill, amazing views, we enjoyed the many deer, rabbits, and the rare wild turkeys walking by. It's a little up the hill (East of the road) so it has great views and sunsets. Great access to Sea Ranch amenities and bluff walks. Highly recommend!

We stayed here for a friend's wedding and we absolutely loved our time in Sea Ranch and this lovely home. The house is cozy, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our brief visit. The views from every room are stunning and the house has a spacious deck with lovely views of the water. Lots of hummingbird activity, too! Thank you so much! We hope to be back again.

The property location is beautiful and has very nice outdoor deck with a wonderful view. It worked well for our family and vendors that was providing lodging for my daughter’s wedding in the area. The house is “lived in” but is well maintained. The owner was very responsive to me on a couple of issues and she was out of the country too which I found very responsive.
