Bright & Beautiful Apt, Ealing Broadway, London!

The property was in close proximity to where we wanted to be, and was very easy to navigate to. Bus and tube transportation was nearby and very convenient. The apartment was a little larger that we thought it would be. Our communications with the host were prompt and concise. On the con side of things, the apartment needs a little work in a few places. 1. We tried several times to get the window in the living room to open, to no avail. We contacted the host a few times, but no solution was provided. It looked like the window may have been bolted shut, and considering the heat wave we were in, the window would have been a welcome respite from the heat. 2. The surround at the base of tub/shower was completely missing, and the space under the tub was quite dirty and dusty - until I had to vacuum under it. Replacing the tub surround would be HIGHLY recommended. 3. The wall bracket for the shower pole was broken, hence the shower head would not stay stable and tended to fall down the pole. This should be fixed. 4. The Dyson vacuum was absolutely inefficient - until I discovered that the beater bar head was absolutely caked in dirt and wound with hair and fibres. It as apparent that it had not been cleaned in some time. I took the beater bar head off and gave it a thorough cleaning with soap and water, and scrubbed it clean. Note to cleaners to please clean the cleaning tools - they are useless if they too, are dirty. 5. The grout in all the tile floors was filthy - it was evident that the grout was not a priority in the cleaning process. I physically got down on my hands and knees and cleaned the bathroom floor. The grout actually was white under all the grime, which begs the question, how effectively are the floors cleaned? The apartment did meet our basic needs. However, as a paying guest, and at a fairly high rental rate, I would not expect to come in and have to clean AFTER the apartment had been cleaned. I suggest these issues be addressed and that a deep cleaning of the apartment occur at regular intervals. I would recommend this property ONLY AFTER the above issues were fully addressed.
