Pete who owns the property was great so friendly and welcoming, he showed us around the property and made Shaw we knew where everything was. He was on hand at all times if we needed him, the house was amazing very clean and had all the amenities you could want. The beds were very comfy and the views were great, the games room and hot tub were just brilliant. I would highly recommend this property, and we have already booked to stay again.

The house is simply stunning, surrounded by incredible views. We visited for a weekend in autumn and, although we weren’t lucky with the weather, the kids were thrilled with the games room and spent hours playing endless rounds of hide-and-seek.
The owners are beyond lovely—warm, open, and incredibly welcoming. They were happy to answer any questions before our stay (including what to pack and what to expect in the area), and during our visit they were always available to help with anything we needed.
The house is fully equipped with everything you might need to make your gathering special. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for the perfect spot for a family get-together.

Groomes is an exceptional country house set in wonderful surroundings. There is access to beautiful countryside walks in surrounding fields and woods. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The log burner was especially welcome when we had 2 inches of snow. Everything we needed was provided, we had great fun in the games room and the hot tub under the stars was a highlight. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble, thanks Pete and Ed. We would definitely recommend Groomes and would love to return. A tip for a restaurant to visit is the Bat and Ball where we had excellent food.
