Getting to MXP can be a challenge especially for an early international flight. If you aren't familiar with Malpensa it is 50km from Milan Centrale and though the Malpensa Express is pretty reliable it is pokey and stops as you would imagine several times on the way to the airport. If you want to avoid the stress of schlepping your ski bag and all your crap through the train station before any coffee shops are open - stay at the airport. Sleep and Fly was affordable and the staff will shuttle you back and forth to your terminal for 15 Euros each way which is the cost of the train from Milan. There is an excellent restaurant in the neighborhood walking distance away called Samarcanda so you can get your final pizza and wine dinner before leaving Italy. They are fantastic and everyone knows it so make a rezo. There are no other options for dining but delivery might be available from Gallarate.
Understand when you stay a few hundred meters from an active runway - jumbo jets will be taking off in your dreams all night if you can fall asleep. Figure it our - use earplugs and turn up your phone alarm all the way so you don't miss it. Guests came and went all night and it was a bit noisy. People upstairs could be heard talking so be considerate. I was comfortable in my room and slept reasonably knowing I didn't have to rush to the train an hour away. Your US airline check in counter probably won't open until 3h before your flight so you don't have to be there 4h in advance - that is a myth if you are flying United and Delta.

There location is perfect for late or early flights from Malpensa airport. Our room was decent size and had extra large bed.
Horrible customer service! The person who we were meant to meet let us wait outside the door for over 15mins even though he knew we were coming and this was 11pm. He tried to charge us for late check in even though we were given different information on WhatsApp prior to arrival. He did not believe us and he asked me to show hi on my phone the text message. Booking.com says 25p City tax per person per night and he charged us 1euro pp per night without giving a proper explanation. It is not the amount but it is the principal.
