About this farm stay rental
This fantastic 3* rated character house offers spacious accommodation for families or groups of friends. With private gardens, outdoor solar heated pool (seasonal) and hot tub. A great place to relax and unwind with family and friends.
The house is over 150 years old and has many original features such as oak beamed ceilings and a wood burning fireplace. Situated in the heart of Brittany the farmhouse is located in a rural and peaceful country setting, ideal for walking and cycling.
2 villages within 4km with a bank, bars, bakery, small supermarket and chemist. The larger towns of Josselin -4 fleur rated- and Ploermel are within a 15 to 20 minute drive.
6 very large bedrooms (all en-suite), comprising 2 with a double bed and 2 singles, 3 with a king-size bed and 1 single and 1 with a king-size bed.
All bed linen included. Hand towels only provided.
A very spacious lounge with seating with several 3 seater and 2 seater settees, 40” flat screen TV, ( French) DVD player .WIFI.
Magnificent Dining /Bar area with 2 x 6 seater dining tables. Purpose built bar area with pool table and fridges for your wine and beer. A piano for guest use and 2 well stocked book cases.
A fully functional farmhouse kitchen incorporating large 5 burner range cooker, dishwasher, washing machine. fridge freezer and separate fridge, kettle, 4 slice toaster, filter coffee maker, dining table with 6 chairs and a bench seat. Plenty of Crockery, cutlery etc.
Large Games Room and dedicated Internet Lounge.
The internet lounge has a cosy settee and chairs along with a well stocked book case for a quiet relaxing area. The internet room links onto the games room.
The Games Room has Table Tennis, Air Hockey, Skittles, Table Football, children’s Snooker Table, Chess, Xbox, with 28' TV, and various board games - plenty to keep you amused on those inclement days.
Large Private secure Garden, child friendly.
Gated, Decked solar heated Pool (seasonal) and Hot exclusively for guests. Please note the Hot Tub is only to be used by adults and over 14's.
Garden Furniture tables and chairs. Small football goal and toys.

Perfect sized property for our party of 11 & the lovely weather helped us to enjoy the outside area and pool as well.Georgina and Steve were friendly and welcoming and the house is the perfect place to get away from it all. Thanks for having us

We booked the Old Farmhouse for a family get together. The accommodation was perfect for our needs, with communal areas for meals, etc., but with bedrooms in separate areas (three blocks) to ensure privacy. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, which was also much appreciated. The kids enjoyed the games room and pool. The surrounding area had plenty of places to visit for kids and grandparents alike. And the hosts were very responsive if asked but respected our privacy. This all made for a fantastic holiday.

We were three families (6 adults) and currently have a total of 4 small children. The house in rural Brittany around a 5-minute drive to Mohon and about a 20-minute drive to the nearest ‘larger’ town. There is a near neighbor across the fence from the pool.
The house is very large & the six rooms are split into three lots of two. This meant our small children could be far enough away from each other not to wake each other, and also gave us our own space. The communal spaces were very large, certainly for a party of our size, and could easily accommodate a few more. The house and garden are both very well equipped. We cooked and ate nearly all our meals in the house and didn’t come across anything we could have done with or had missed from home. The house is in good order, the beds are comfortable and the lounge, games room and bar are all great.
Notes of caution
Firstly, on arrival we were asked for £300 security deposit – this is to be expected from a holiday let, but it would have been helpful to have this clearer on the website or to have been reminded as part of the booking process. There is no ‘damages policy’ and so we were left unsure what would count as reasonable wear and tear and what might be charged for.
Secondly, we had issues with the hot tub, despite its size only four people can use it at once for a maximum of 20 minutes at a time. Whilst we don’t own one ourselves, I’m assured this is unusual. Ideas of spending long evenings drinking cocktails in the hot tub were short lived. Having misunderstood the guidance on the first night, we felt sufficiently ‘warned’ by Jenny and Phil over the next couple of days that we stopped using it, feeling the joy had been slightly sucked from the experience.
Thirdly it’s worth noting that the pool is lined rather than tiled and not heated and so it can be very cold. We visited in August and although we had some bad weather its temperature, even on hot sunny days, meant we rarely used the pool.
Finally, don’t underestimate the impact of having Jenny and Phil on site. Whilst they were nice and did largely keep out the way, they would clean the pool and hot tub themselves, usually between 9 and 10 am. We all agreed that we felt like we had ‘mum and dad’ living next door, and were, perhaps, less able to let our hair down than we would have liked.
We had a lovely time in this house and it does have a lot to offer, so provided you’re careful with the things above it makes a good destination.
