"IL FIENILE" APARTMENT.
IL FIENILE owes its name to its historic function, namely that of being in all and all the ancient barn of MANIERO for drying and forage storage. The restoration of the property has left intact the subdivision into two levels as it was in the medieval period: on the ground floor we find the kitchen, dining area and living room with a historic collection of copper objects where a large and bright arched window made of cypress is mastered it overlooks the Tuscan garden while in the upper floor, used as a sleeping area with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, the ancient wooden balcony typical of Tuscan barns from which the hay was descended with a wooden staircase is clearly visible. Today the ancient rural wooden staircase has been replaced by an original stone and solid wood staircase and the ancient tools symbolizing the barn itself stand out on the ceiling. The apartment, besides being very bright given the different windows that had the ancient function of airing the barn to dry the fodder in the upper floor, is directly adjacent to the ancient medieval walls of the village of Vicopisano: emblem of this is the Tuscan masonry kitchen that literally rests on the stone walls of the fortification creating a suggestive and unique environment.
KITCHEN AREA / LIVING AREA: The ground floor of the IL FIENILE apartment is a large open space consisting of a built-in kitchen with antique terracotta tiles from Impruneta, a dining area with a rustic Tuscan solid wood table and a living area with sofa-sofa leather bed and TV corner. The kitchen consists of a grit sink, a large countertop and an induction hob: the refrigerator and the dishwasher are located in the wooden recesses of the kitchen where you will also find pots, a microwave, a kettle, a toaster and everything you need. to prepare a beautiful Tuscan dinner! The kitchen area is enriched by an ancient collection of copper objects and wrought iron chandeliers that illuminate the restored ceiling with Tuscan spruce beams and rafters. In the living area, separated from the kitchen by a beautiful stone arch that makes the large open space particularly bright, we find the TV area and sofa that can easily be transformed into a large sofa bed to take advantage of the maximum capacity of 6 people in the apartment.
DOUBLE BEDROOM WITH PRIVATE BATHROOM: Located on the first floor, the room is characterized by an antique and comfortable Tuscan-style bed of great charm, wardrobe and rustic wooden dresser illuminated with medieval skylights. At the service of the room there is the master bathroom made with the original Impruneta majolica tiles and characterized by a large shower, toilet, bidet and the original sink made of stone, set in an olive table on an old sewing machine .
DOUBLE ROOM (TWO SINGLE BUNK BEDS): Near the DOUBLE BEDROOM WITH PRIVATE BATHROOM there is the second bedroom which offers a bunk bed with two big size single beds (195cmx85cm) to accommodate both adults and children. The bed is entirely made of Tuscan wood: it strikes the detail of the safety edge made in real medieval style.
BATHROOM AT THE SERVICE OF THE DOUBLE ROOM AND THE LIVING AREA: The second bathroom, also made with Tuscan majolica, offers a shower - toilet and sink. The bathroom serves both the double room and the living area.
PROPERTY HIGHLIGHTS: Each apartment also benefits from modern comforts such as Wi-Fi and air conditioning, air conditioning, induction hobs, satellite and cable TV, electric sockets in ancient china with rotary switches, fully equipped kitchens with fridge and dishwasher, oven microwave, toaster, kettle, iron and ironing board, bed and bath linens, laundry service (for a fee), pool-side umbrella station with pool towels included.

We loved the combination of sleeping in what felt like a medieval home and having a pool to cool down with on hot days. The kids say it’s their favourite place they’ve ever stayed!

We booked this apartment for four nights and I can say without a doubt that it was the highlight of our holiday. After some hectic time of touring in Rome and Florence, the relaxing atmosphere of the Brunelleschi Manor and the warm welcome we received from our host was exactly what we needed.
The apartment was clean, well-appointed, and charming. The first floor has a kitchen, a dining area, and a TV viewing area with a pull-out couch. Upstairs, two full bathrooms, and two bedrooms (one with a bunk bed, and the master with a queen-sized bed).
The courtyard was very well maintained and had enough space to temporarily park while dropping off or loading luggage. The shared pool was large, modern, and very well-maintained. One of the things we really liked about the seating in the pool area was that each apartment had its own reserved area with two loungers and a couple of chairs. While there were other guests there at the time of our stay, there was plenty of space for everyone, and never felt crowded. Lastly, there is a washing machine located in a small room off the patio that is available for guests.
The property is a 3-minute walk from the main square in Vicopisano and it was nice to be able to take a quick stroll down to the restaurants, gelateria, and grocery store.
Our hosts were very easy to communicate with and truly made us feel at home. This property, the Niccolai family, and Vicopisano are etched in our hearts.

super nice apartment. everything was in the best order. large nice kitchen and 2 bathrooms. aircondisicon in 3 rooms always nice and cool. Incredibly nice pool. There was also a large shared freezer for ice cubes and cold beer and water. In fact, everything you have needed on a holiday. The location makes it easy to get to the beach and the beautiful city of Lucca, which is definitely a beautiful city with lots of restaurants and culture. The family who owned the place was very friendly and helpful, they really welcomed us. you will not regret this place if you need a quiet holiday. We can only say thank you for a super nice stay in vicopisano.:)
