Simple honest and value. No frills. Like none. But they are upfront about that. But it was warm, clean, easy to find, easy to get in the room, full kitchen facilities.
My room had 3 beds which was not needed but a bonus.
Not much.
Some shower gel would have been cool but for the price I guess I don't see how they would do more than they do.
Oh a slightly better pillow would be cool 🤷♂️
For clarity the cost of this place is what most hotels would consider their cost price! Ie the cost of cleaning, sheets, consumables etc. so if your expecting miracles that's on you.

In a quiet location in a beautiful area of Scotland.
Boiler quit so there was no hot water. Kitchen had some basics but was very small for the number of users. Room had no chair. No lounge or common area. Just one harsh ceiling light in the room. Most hostels I’ve stayed in were much better equipped.

The staff responded to a request
The mattress was a disgrace and dangerous due to exposed spring ends.
No bedside tables.
No bath mat.
No bath soap.
Dirty walls.
There was a note in the kitchen advising a requirement to wash and return crockery and cooking appliances to kitchen cupboards however there was no dishwashing liquid available nor a tea towel nor any clean dishcloths. The fridge had dairy products in it that for all we knew could have been weeks old.
