The flat is on the 18th floor of a tower block. The entrance to it was an unnumbered corrugated tunnel. After many tries, one person took me to it. I could have been walking around a week and would not have found it. The host did not recognise a photo of an Esso garage to indicate my whereabouts. It is literally yards / metres from the flat. One or both lifts were usually inaccessible; both lifts worked for the first time on day eight of a ten day stay. I informed the host but her answer was to ignore my observation about having to regularly climb 18 floors through a stifling, filthy, rubbish strewn stairwell covered in obnoxious graffiti. Instead her reply came in the form of advising me someone else would be coming to stay. I requested more information: male? female? nationality? booked through Vrbo? Not a word in reply. And nobody came to stay. I put all these points firstly to Expedia (a Vrbo partner). They wanted nothing at all to do with it. I contacted Vrbo on Chat. The first two operatives left the conversation as soon as they read my complaint.. I had to keep hammering at the door to eventually come across the A team, aka Vrbo Resolution Team.. They said they reached out to the host so I should monitor all lines. Needless to say : Nothing at all. Almost a week in, I was asked for photos. What are photos going to achieve set against lifts not working?
I did not come equipped with Royal Marine levels of fitness.
